    Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

    The post holder will develop and strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems to allow for effective, accurate reporting for decision making and project implementation. He/she will contribute to building the Nigerian country office and partner capacity to develop and use participatory approaches to monitoring and evaluation for effective project implementation.

    The ideal candidate must possess a degree, preferably in statistics, or the social sciences. He/she must have at least three years NGO working experience.

    Essential criteria
    Significant experience and knowledge of monitoring and evaluation
    Familiarity with programme cycle management approaches and tools, including participatory planning
    Good knowledge of official donors such as EU, DFID, USAID etc
    Significant experience of working with small, indigenous partners
    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong IT skills
    Experience of facilitation, training and network and partner capacity building

    Desirable criteria
    Ability to incorporation of governance methodologies into partners’ work
    Understanding of partnership approach to international development
    Understanding and familiarity with database management
    Familiarity and understanding of SPSS
    Ability to produce quality reports from analysis conducted on data sets

    The post holder is responsible for supporting and managing Christian Aid partnerships and programmes, as well as the effective disbursement of funds to Christian Aid partners. He/she will represent Christian Aid and will engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including community representatives, other civil society organisations and government. He/she will accompany partners in their project implementation, helping to ensure quality programming.

    The ideal candidate must possess a degree in a development-related field, preferably in political science or with a governance/public policy focus. He/she must have at least three years NGO working experience.

    Significant experience of implementing governance programmes
    In depth understanding of issues of governance, power and rights
    Significant experience in working with local partner organisations
    Good knowledge of official donors such as EU, DFID, USAID and a proven track record of successful fundraising
    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively represent Christian Aid at the national, state and local levels
    High level of computer literacy
    Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

    Desirable criteria
    Skills and experience in national, state and local advocacy and lobbying processes
    In-depth understanding and familiarity with DFID, EU, COMIC RELIEF and/or USAID funding and reporting requirements
    Familiarity in working with faith based institutions in Nigeria
    Fluency in spoken Igbo language

    Program Assistant

    The post holder will assist the Programmes team in its management of Christian Aid’s partnerships and programmes. He/she will contribute to the smooth administration of the programme, including liaison with local partners and support in collating and compiling of partners reports in accordance with Christian Aid’s framework and/or donor requirement

    Intern (Finance Assistant)

    Christian Aid Nigeria is looking to recruit an Intern (Finance assistant) for the implementation of an intervention ‘Voice to the People’, funded by the UK Government, which will deliver strong results in the area of community-driven accountability in Anambra State. The role provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic professional who will support Christian Aid partnerships and programmes.

    Please be advised that this is not a salaried position and the individual would not be entitled to the benefits that apply to Christian Aid staff. However, it is an opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic work environment, specifically in an international NGO.

    Key responsibilities
    Accurate processing of invoices, staff retirements/expenses with correct coding, date and authenticated authorisation
    Preparation of bank reconciliation statements
    Proper filing/archiving of financial report
    Process all requisition and payment to staff and vendors/suppliers
    Support in the preparation of monthly accounts and financial returns
    Support in the financial review and monitoring of Christian Aid partners

    Person specification
    BSc or HND in accounting
    Fluency in English, including exceptional written English
    High level of computer literacy (Word and Excel essential)
    Desire to learn and an interest in development work
    Ability to prioritize within a multi- tasking environment
