    Assistant to the General Coordinator

    Supervisor: General Coordinator

    Supervises: NA

    Length of contract: 6 months

    Possibility for extension: yes

    Job Tasks
    Programs / coordination

    • Research and collect any useful information and data relating to the strategic development and positioning of MdM
    • Review and participate to mission documents production (contracts, proposals, MoU…)
    • Prepare the minutes of meetings the GC attends
    • Prepare the minutes of all other meetings after the GC request
    • Prepare and compile the sitrep as well as different reports on the missions and send them to the GC
    • Ensure all necessary reporting: drafting of project proposals, interim and/or final reports, concept notes, etc. in collaboration     with the General Coordinator
    • File and archive documents related to the GC’s responsibilities

    Representation

    • Participate or accompany the GC at meetings for humanitarian coordination / security if requested by GC;
    • Represent the GC by delegation with aid workers, administrative authorities, local politicians, civil society and the media
    • Facilitate the proper circulation of information on the mission

    Abuja Representation:
    The Assistant to the General Coordinator must be ready to travel frequently to Abuja for meetings with government ministries. The candidate may have to spend several days at a time in Abuja, and must be ready to conduct these activities

    Security
    Establish and maintain informal relations and a network of contacts permitting the collection of information, and the security and geo-political contexts in the countries and areas of intervention and keep informed GenCo

    PROFILE REQUIRED:

    • Experience in similar position for at least 2 years
    • Good knowledge of Maiduguri and Abuja
    • Experience dealing with government officials preferred
    • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office package (Excel, word, powerpoint)
    • Excellent written skills in English
    • Strong sense of responsibilities and organization skills
    • Strong work ethic and rigor
    • Languages (spoken and written): English, Hausa required ,Kanuri an advantage
    • Flexibility, problem solving
    • Team player
    • Experience in the humanitarian sector strongly preferred

    Method of Application
