Rotork is the market leading actuator manufacturer and flow control company that operates where the flow of gasses or liquids needs to be controlled. The main industries that we provide technical solutions for are Oil and Gas, Water and Power.
This person will have sales and service responsibility for all Rotork Products (Controls, RFS, Gears) and services in Nigeria to ensure that customers are supported in both technical and commercial dealings. Extensive travel within Nigeria will be required to present, demonstrate and support Rotork Products on customer site. This is a permanent position, not an expatriate role.
Main Responsibilities:
To achieve the company’s short and long-term sales/service targets for its complete range of products and services
To prepare and present product seminars to customers with the objective of getting the company’s products specified by brand name and/or technical specification
To structure quotations by setting price level, profit margin and deciding product specification
To represent the company at technical and commercial negotiations to ensure maximum profit is obtained on all orders
To be responsible for planning travel programmes to ensure maximum sales penetration within Nigeria
Identify faults, repair, test/commission, modify/upgrade actuators in the field
Carry out mechanical and sometimes electrical installation of actuators and associated retrofit adaption components, pedestals and drive shafts
Produce site visit reports for each job which are accurate and technically/grammatically correct
Give basic set-up training to customers as required
To receive all correspondence from the given territory and to liaise with and/or delegate the actions of the relevant department within the company
To prepare customer and country reports for the company, detailing projects, market activity, competition and agent performance
Personal Specification:
Have achieved success already in an external Sales/Service role, over a period of at least 3 years
Be able to put forward technical arguments to customers. In this role customers are at 3 levels/types:
the end user (who can come from any of the industries Rotork serves, namely Oil and Gas, Water, Power)
the valve-maker
the contractor
Have a technical qualification in Electrical/Electronic engineering or similar - minimum level would be HNC/HND or the local equivalent
Fluency in English and at least one native language (Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba) required
Capable of planning own schedule, taking initiative for their own actions, and the ability to self-motivate
Be free and able to travel extensively across Nigeria and surrounding countries (upon request)
Have sufficient numerical aptitude e.g. for calculating discounts, percentages, etc
Excellent PC skills for using presentation (PowerPoint) and spreadsheet (Excel) packages
