    Network Support

     

    Summary:  The Network Support (NS) provides network support assistance and performs a variety of technical duties related to the installation and maintenance of the computer network, communications hardware and software systems at eHA including network and application servers, routers, Firewall, LAN, WAN, phone systems and PC workstations. S/he works on various network hardware/software to ensure that network devices are implemented, maintained and available for use.  

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. 

    • Provides quality service support by completing support requests and taking prompt and necessary action to resolve and/or escalate identified software, computer, network or system issues to ensure that the requirements are met. Coordinates the deployment of managed hardware devices with customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Provides technical support to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues. Installs new hardware including servers, printers, computers workstations, etc.
    • Installs, maintains, configures and troubleshoot telecommunication infrastructure, including VOIP phones, AP’s, WLAN controllers.
    • Provides support in configuring network application systems and maintaining documentation for network configuration. Supports all aspects of the network management process assuring requests, implementation, and problems are delivered as required.
    • Oversees security of all systems, especially the internet, and installing antivirus protection. Fixes network faults and maintains internal IT systems in adherence with IT’s policies and standards.
    • Supports the growth, integration, and qualification of new and existing network elements and equipment. Provides direction and guidance to process improvements.
    • Troubleshoots and resolves complex level network related problems. Coordinates resources where necessary and serve as escalation point to operations team.
    • Performs offsite technical implementation, installation and configuration of hardware when required. 
    • Troubleshoots malfunctions of network hardware and software applications to resolve operational issues.
    • Oversees the administration of systems and servers related network to ensure availability of services to authorized users. Day to day admin and monitoring of network use.
    • Attends and participates in professional group meetings, seminars and trainings in order to stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of information systems technology. 
    • Performs any other duties assigned by management.
    • May frequently travel between company worksites.

    Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to successfully perform this job. 

    Education/Experience 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field. 
    • Minimum of Two (2) years relevant experience preferably in an NGO or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with LAN/WAN operations, Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Performance Tuning and various networking protocols.
    • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new technologies, tools, and applications related to job
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills and great attention to detail. 
    • Must be able to work as a member of a team and possess good problem solving skills. 
    • Good learning ability. Action oriented and resilient in a fast-paced environment.  

    Certifications and Licenses 

    • CCNA, MTCNA 

    Computer Skills 

    • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Intermediate proficiency working with specialized software utilized in program. 

    Language Ability

    • English is the spoken and written language.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and the general public.

    Senior Software Developer

     

    The Senior Developer is responsible for developing and supporting projects, functions and completing specific client work, projects and miscellaneous tasks. This highly responsible position involves using established work procedures to analyse, design, develop, implement, maintain, re-engineer and troubleshoot applications. 

    Keywords: JavaScript, Git, ReactJS, AngularJS, AJAX, CSS3 

    Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Directs technical aspects of operations related to client accounts or high severity issues 
    • Participates in the evolution of company level software best practices, standards, and policies 
    • Defines objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality 
    • Works closely with developers and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
    • Collaborates with product owners, technical architects and other software developers to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web- and mobile-based applications 
    • Provides thought-leadership as to emerging technologies and integrate them into business operations
    • Assists in estimation and assessment of feasibility of solutions for upcoming projects 

    Qualifications and Experience 

    • Bachelor’s degree from college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Technology or related field. A postgraduate degree is desirable.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Development or an equivalent of education and experience
    • Well familiar with the whole software development life cycle (e.g. requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation) and execution models (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
    • Strong understanding of JavaScript, its module loaders and frameworks such as AngularJS and ReactJS
    • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
    • Good understanding of databases and SQL. Some exposure to NoSQL Databases ideal
    • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around such issues
    • Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Grunt and Gulp.js
    • Basic understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
    • Understanding of accessibility and security compliance 
    • Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems and environments
    • Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
    • Understanding of the differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
    • Strong unit test and debugging skills as well as proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Git)
    • Experience in creation and review of software and architecture designs

    EOC Administrative Coordinator

     

    Summary: The EOC Administrative Coordinator coordinates and performs a wide variety of administrative and technical services to support activities of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). S/he serves as a primary point of operational and administrative contact for internal and external stakeholders.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned 

    • Serves as a primary point of direct administrative contact and liaison with other offices, individuals, and external stakeholders and partners on a range of specified issues; organizes and facilitates meetings, conferences, and other special events, as required.
    • Organizes and facilitates meetings, conferences, and other special events. Sets up meeting rooms with appropriate technology and arranges lunches, dinners and refreshments for meetings.
    • Performs general secretarial/clerical duties including recording and transcribing minutes of meetings, photocopying, fax, and mailing. Assists in managing all technical equipment (printers, computers, projectors, etc.)
    • Responsible for managing daily task managers and email reminders. Maintains electric and hard copy filing systemPrepares and modifies documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, and emails.
    • Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day management of supplies, equipment, and facilities for the organization, as appropriate, to include maintenance, inventory management, logistics, security, and related activities.
    • Gathers, enters, and/or updates data to maintain departmental records and databases, as appropriate; establishes and maintains files and records for the EOC. Organizes and maintains electronic and paper filing systems for EOC resources, tools and materials, including files on the shared drive.
    • Provides general administrative/Technical support to the EOC Office Manager and Partners as required.
    • Maintains a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, VPN, Email routing and HTTP. Investigates, diagnose and solves computer software and hardware faults.
    • Installs, maintains, configures and troubleshoot telecommunication infrastructure, including VOIP phones, AP’s, WLAN controllers including servers, printers, computers workstations, etc.
    • Performs any other duties assigned by Management.
    • Provides technical support to troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services. 

    Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to successfully perform this job. 

    • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management or any related field.
    • Minimum of Three (3) years Technical administrative support experience preferably in an International NGO or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of software and troubleshooting.
    • Able to communicate by various modes such as verbally in-person, Mobile phone, pager, and direct connect/radio.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills and great attention to detail. Must be able to work as a member of a team and possess good problem solving skills.
    • Must have flexibility in working hours, including on-call availability and the willingness to work holidays. Excellent customer service skills.
