  • Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic came into being on the 2nd of February, 1989 wide Kaduna State Edict No. 3 (subsequently amended in 2004). The Edict charged the Polytechnic to among other things provide for training and development of techniques in Applied Science, Engineering and Commerce as well as in other spheres of learning. The Polytechnic courses of instruction (in full-time and Part-time) leading to the award of Diplomas, Certificates and other distinctions of Scientific, Technological and other subjects are available at all times in order to meet the requirements of State and the manpower needs of the Country.

    Application are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following under-listed positions:

    Medical Officer II

     

    Responsibilities

    • Attends to medical care in the medical centre.

    Qualifications

    • The applicant should be a holder of M.B.B.S. or equivalent qualification and registered with the Nigeria Medical and Dental Council.

    Salary
    The salary of Medical Officer II is CONMESS 8.

    Director, Medical Services

     

    Responsibilities

    • Taking over all charge of medical centre.
    • Co-ordinating the work and activities of subordinates staff of the centre.
    • Responsible to the Rector for the smooth running of the medical centre.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Rector.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • The applicant should be a holder of MBBS or equivalent qualification with eighteen (18) years cognate experience or holder of post graduate qualification in medicine with at least fifteen (15) years cognate experience.
    • Must provide evidence of membership with the Nigeria Medical and Dental Council.

    Terms of Appointment

    • The salary of the Director of Medical services is CONMESS 15.
    • He/She shall be entitled to an official car.
    • He shall be entitled to accommodation, if he/she desires and where a vacant house exists.

    Director, Physical Planning

     

    Responsibilities
    Director, physical planning department shall be responsible for:

    • Overall control of works and services department,
    • Formulating divisional strategies to achieve the institutional goals.
    • Planning and controlling the technical activities of the work and services departments.
    • Advising the Rector on the acquisition operation and maintenance of all Polytechnic assets.
    • Preparing the Department’s budget and exercising budgetary controls.
    • Keeping an inventory of all vehicles maintenance, security and upkeep.
    • Performing other duties as may be assigned the Rector.

    Qualifications and Experience
    The candidate for the post is expected to be:

    • A holder of a good degree in Engineering with at least eighteen (18) years relevant experience or a holder of a good master’s degree in the relevant field plus at least eighteen (18) or a Ph.D with fifteen (15) years relevant experience.
    • Must be registered with appropriate professional body.

    Terms of Appointment
    The salary of the Director Physical Planning is CONTISS 15. Other fringe benefits are:

    • An official car
    • Sabbatical within Nigeria on completion of tenure provided the officer is not retiring.

    Polytechnic Librarian

     

    Job Description

    • The Polytechnic librarian shall be responsible to the Rector for the provision of library services in the Polytechnic.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for library services of the Polytechnic.
    • In attendance at Governing Council meeting.
    • Member Junior Staff Appointment.
    • Promotion and Disciplinary Committee.
    • Member, Management Committee.
    • Member, Academic Board.
    • Preparation of library Budget.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • The applicant should be a holder of Ph.D in Library Science with fifteen (15) years cognate experience or MLS with eighteen (18) years cognate experience.
    • Must provide evidence of membership with the library registration council,
    • Must provide evidence of journal publication, conference/seminar papers and books proceeding.
    • Must have spent at least four (4) years satisfactorily as a Deputy Chief Librarian.

    Terms of Appointment
    The appointment is for an initial period of four (4) years renewable for a second and final term of four (4) years. The salary of the Polytechnic librarian is CONTISS 15. Other fringe benefits are:

    • Sabbatical within Nigeria on completion of tenure provided the officer is not retiring.

    Bursar

     

    Job Description

    • The Bursar shall be responsible to the Rector for the day to day administration and control of financial affairs of the Polytechnic.

    Responsibilities

    • The Bursar plans, organizes, direct and coordinates the operation of the financial system of the Polytechnic.
    • He is responsible for the general administration of the Bursary.
    • He is responsible to the Rector for any duties that may be assigned to him from time to time.

    Qualifications and Experience
    Candidate applying for the position of Bursar should posses the following:

    • A good honours degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant field from a recognized Institution or equivalent professional Accountancy qualification of ICAN/ANAN/ACA/CAN/ACCA/ACMA.
    • At least twenty (20) years relevant working experience in a recognized institution of higher learning.
    • Possession of a higher degree will be an added advantage.

    Terms of Appointment
    The appointment is for an initial period of four (4) years renewable for a second and final term of four (4) years. The salary is CONTISS 15. Other benefits are:

    • An official car.
    • Sabbatical within Nigeria on completion of the tenure provided the officer is not retiring.

    Registrar

     

    Job Description

    • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible to the Rector for the general administration of the Polytechnic.

    Responsibilities

    • Function as Secretary to the Governing Council.
    • Function as Secretary to the Academic Board.
    • Function as Secretary to all statutory committees.
    • Responsible for keeping all records of the Institution other than financial and medical.
    • Issuing of all certificate of the Institution,
    • Takes charge of the Registry Division.
    • Responsible to the Rector for day to day administration of the Institution.
    • Keeping custody of the Polytechnic seal.
    • Perform any other functions that may be assigned by the Rector.

    Qualifications and Experience
    Candidate seeking for the post should be:

    • A holder of good honour Degree; preferably in the Arts and Humanities from a recognized Institution with at least eighteen (18) years post qualification experience.
    • A holder of Master’s Degree in relevant field with at least fifteen (15) years post qualification experience.
    • A holder of Doctorate Degree in relevant field with at least fourteen (14) years post qualification experience.

    Terms of Appointment
    The appointment is for an initial term of four (4) years renewable once and no more. The salary is CONTISS 15.
    Other benefits are:

    • An official car.
    • Sabbatical within Nigeria on completion of the tenure provided the officer is not retiring.
