    Evaluation Specialist, MacArthur Foundation-funded Big Bet in Nigeria Evaluation

    Proposal Objective

    • Social Impact is pursuing the upcoming MacArthur Foundation funded Evaluation of the Big Bet in Nigeria.
    • The program aims to support Nigerian-led efforts to promote accountability, transparency, and to reduce corruption.
    • The initial phase of the program will last approximately three years.

    Position Description

    • Social Impact is seeking a short-term locals M&E Specialists to provide technical support to the MacArthur Foundation funded Evaluation of the Big Bet in Nigeria.

    Responsibilities

    • The Evaluation Specialist must contribute substantively to the design and field testing of the evaluation methodology, participatory data collection methods and protocols, data verification techniques, and other technical evaluation and analytical tasks conducted under this contract.
    • S/he will also be responsible for the design, quality, development and completion of all assessments, analytical reports, and evaluations.

    Qualifications

    • Master's Degree or higher in International Development, Education, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, or other related field.
    • Experience evaluating programs in Nigeria and/or Sub-Saharan region in the education policy, education reform, and civil society and governance in education
    • Minimum five year of experience in quantitative and/or qualitative evaluation methodologies, or a combination of both.
    • Familiarity with foundations project cycle, policies, regulations, and monitoring and evaluation methodologies and reporting requirements, preferred.
    • Strong management, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
    • Previous experience working in Nigeria required.
    • English language fluency required.

    Data Visualization and Graphic Designer, MacArthur Foundation-funded Big Bet in Nigeria Evaluation

    Position Description

    • Social Impact is seeking a short-term Data Visualization and Graphic Designer to provide leadership to the MacArthur Foundation funded Evaluation of the Big Bet in Nigeria.
    • The data visualization specialist is expected to have a strong knowledge of visualization best practices, latest trends in visualization techniques and software, and data analysis.

    Responsibilities

    • Create regular reports through reporting software to manage dashboards and metrics.
    • Create, polish and re-purpose slideshow presentations.
    • Develop and continuously improve measurement approaches, processes, tools and techniques.
    • Designs visual presentations from existing analyses to be disseminated to client groups.
    • Produces new insights from existing data and develop visual presentations.
    • Interacts with peers and clients to synthesize requests for visualizations, analyses and ad-hoc reporting.
    • Communicates results to management in a clear and concise manner.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in graphic design and data visualization.
    • Prior experience in a data-driven environment.
    • Relevant knowledge and/or experience in monitoring and evaluation principles and processes.
    • Experience in manipulating data and data structures
    • Must be able to interpret and transform analytical documents into polished visualizations that are easily understandable by clients.
    • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
    • Must possess knowledge and experience of Microsoft Suite.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Tableau and/or other visualization tools.
    • Experience working in Nigeria or Sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • English fluency required.

    Electricity Expert, MacArthur Foundation-funded Big Bet in Nigeria Evaluation

    • Social Impact is seeking a short-term local Electricity Expert with experience in Monitoring and Evaluation to provide technical support to the MacArthur funded Evaluation of the Big Bet in Nigeria program.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical expertise and context on energy policy and regulations, energy sector reform, and civil society and governance in energy in Nigeria
    • Provide guidance on quantitative and qualitative data collection tools
    • Support on the production of reports and deliverables.
    • Undertake other tasks required for the successful completion of the evaluation

    Qualifications

    • Graduate degree or higher in international development or related field, with a focus in energy policy and regulations, energy sector reform, and civil society and governance in energy.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience with the electricity sector in Nigeria.
    • Experience working with ministries of energy, ministries of finance and public energy utilities and private sector.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and and/or experience working on anti-corruption, accountability, transparency, and/or good governance efforts.
    • Demonstrated experience designing and conducting evaluations in Nigeria or Sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative evaluation methodologies
    • Experience facilitating activities around feedback, knowledge management and learning
    • Experience conducting qualitative data collection (facilitation, KIIs, FGDs, etc)
    • Experience writing reports and recommendations to philanthropic donors
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
    • English language fluency required.
