You must be able to manage the various aspects relating to electric power for construction or renovation projects at conventional power stations and in particular coal fired power plant. In addition, you must be able to take on the following tasks:
- Take charge of design review activities for electrical systems, in compliance with local and international standards and regulations.
- Check the ratings of equipment, technical specifications and the general design of electrical systems, including generator, generator protections, generator breaker, power transformer, MV and LV motors, electrical auxiliaries.
- Oversee the management of interfaces relating to other technical disciplines or with the customer’s installation
- Provide consulting in the field of electrical systems of generation units
- The site lead electrical engineer is also responsible for the on Site erection and commissioning activities related to the electrical field. for this phase, he works under the supervision of the Site Manager to whom he reports
- Responsible for the quality and quantity surveys of the work carried out by the contractors
- Organising the daily Works on Site between members of the electrical team, managing the permanent electrical team on Site
- Responsible for the control the Works of the Contractors (quality, time schedule)
- Analysing and interpreting the work contract documents, seeking any necessary additional details; contacting the contractor’s electrical representative at the site;
- Responsible for checking the supplies, the erection works and the interfaces of the packages for their electrical conformity with Contractual Specifications, good practices and local Codes;
- Issue punch list and follow-up reports;
- Responsible for checking the physical progress statements and the final account together with the respect of the contractual time schedule;
- Responsible for the follow up of the on site erection of Electrical Equipment
- Responsible for the follow up of the pre-commissioning (cold tests) of electrical equipment and systems i.e all necessary tests before putting under voltage (generator, power transformers, electrical protections, generator breakers, electrical MV and LV motors, MV switchboards, LV MCC’s, MV/LV transformers, battery chargers, inverters, UPS, emergency diesel,…)
- Responsible for the follow up of the commissioning (hot tests) of electrical equipment and systems i.e all necessary tests under voltage (electrical MV and LV motors, MV switchboards, LV MCC’s, MV/LV transformers, battery chargers, inverters, UPS, emergency diesel,…)
- Responsible for checking that the contractors are working in a safe way in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan related to their activities and Site regulations and are respecting the instructions related to Safety Coordination on site
