    USAID/Nigeria in Abuja is seeking to employ suitable and qualified candidate for the Agricultural and Environment Specialist position in the Economic Growth and Environment (EGE) Office.

    BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
    The incumbent is responsible for developing and managing complex agriculture and environmental activities as well as providing leadership in monitoring and evaluation. S/he serves as the Mission Environment Officer (MEO) and will work across the Mission to ensure environmental compliance with Agency regulation for all technical offices.

    The program will provide formal and informal training to Mission staff on environmental screening to mitigate adverse impacts on natural resources. Additionally, s/he will oversee the performance management plan and monitoring and evaluation for the Economic Growth & Environment Office.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field is required.
    • Minimum of ten (10) years professional experience in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of agriculture, environment, and related activities, including two years of experience managing donor-funded assistance programs in the agriculture and /or environment sector is required.
    • Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English Language is required. Language proficiency will be tested.
    • Thorough knowledge of agriculture development and environmental resource management is required.
    • Familiarity with global climate change, sustainable landscapes, bio-diversity preservation, renewable energy, environmental screening and monitoring, and value chain development is required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Ability to negotiate effectively on major operational and technical matters at high-level government, donor, and private sector levels is required.

    Incumbent is assigned to the Facility Maintenance Section (FAC) as Electrical Inspector and supervises the daily routine of the FAC Electrical Shop, a workforce of six skilled Technicians and also a team of multi trade technicians involved in preventive maintenance. This position provides inspection and quality assurance of maintenance practices in the Electrical Shop, in all office buildings and residential compounds. S/he is directly supervised by the Residential Maintenance Supervisor.

    Project Management Specialist for Water, Sanitation Hygiene (WASH)

    Job Summary
    USAID/Nigeria in Abuja is seeking to employ suitable and qualified candidate for the Project Management Specialist for Water, Sanitation Hugiene (WASH) position in the Economic Growth and Environment (EGE) Office.

    Basic Function of the Position

    • The position is divided between two areas: Program/Project Development, Management, and Oversight and Reporting, Evaluation, and communication & Outreach.
    • The incumbent serves as the sector lead for all mission intervention related to WASH (Water, Sanitation Hygiene).
    • The program focus is on management of the WASH portfolio and on WASH Sector development to facilitate investments in the water sector by the public and private sectors, and international financial institutions, and includes work with the relevant ministries and municipalities, other GoN entities, the private sector, and others.
    • Additionally, s/he coordinates activities with other technical teams in the mission, as appropriate, with particular emphasis on ensuring program coherence with the Health/Nutrition technical team.

    Position Requirements

    • Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software programs, excellent communication and ability to function independently in complex, frequently changing political and economic condition is required.

    Selection Process
