  • Genesis Deluxe Cinemas (GDC) is one of Nigeria’s leading cinema developers and operators of multiplex cinemas in Nigeria. GDC is part of the Genesis Group, a Nigerian based conglomerate established in 1991 with its key focus on hospitality. The Genesis Deluxe brand and company was launched onto the Nigeria market in 2008 in Lagos. Since then, Genesis Deluxe Cinemas has grown to 3 cinemas with 15 screens and over 2000 seats. By the month of December 2011, the company had served over 50 million customers. Genesis Deluxe Cinemas has cinemas located in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Vibrant Enugu. Our strategy to continue to grow in all major cities of the country will have us opening in more locations.

    We are recruiting to fill the following vacant positions:

    Cinema Team Leader

     

    Key Responsibilities

    Daily Tasks
    Lead by example to ensure Daily Guest Service is prioritised and implement exceptional guest service standard to meet guests expectations (Be positive & Motivate the team):

    • Ensure Guests Film information are always available (film guides, box office tickets and promo materials)
    • Check daily and ensure all tills are operatives and resolve any issues immediately
    • Daily Ensure the cinema is always clean and organised accordingly
    • Follow daily cashing up procedures and security policy to protect assets and revenue. Any cash difference must be resolved immediately
    • Be firm and take immediate action for any Cash or Security Breach to all staff
    • Ensure staff are presentable and have correct uniform
    • Ensure cinema staff are trained on guest service standards
    • Communicate 15 min morning and evening meeting goals to office staff
    • Daily review of all disciplinary matters, discuss with OM to resolve them

    Accountant

     

    Job Description

    • Preparation of Financial Statement
    • Balance Sheet
    • Profit and Loss Account
    • Budgeting & Variance analysis
    • Maintenance of account records
    • Vetting of Financial document
    • Determination and payment of Third party contract share and other necessary payments
    • Preparation of salary & wages
    • Preparation, remittance and documentation of VAT, WHT, PAYE
    • Preparation and remittance of staff pension
    • Bank reconciliation statement
    • Postings of transaction
    • External relationship/meetings (banks, tax authorities - Federal & State Govt. etc)
    • Raising of purchase order for foreign suppliers.
    • Computation of Film Hire for both calendar & cinema respectively.
    • Payment of foreign suppliers and fund transfer.
    • HOD to ensure effective and efficient financial planning and resources utilization.
    • Ensure that Account and Financial activities are properly carried out, monitored and well coordinated.
    • Assist and support external auditor on interim and year end audits.
    • Review of posting to ensure accuracy of monthly financial account information.
    • Reconciling and reporting on all necessary financial matters for management decision making
    • Careful monitoring of each financial transaction with additional emphasis on how these transactions affect the general setting of the company.
    • Provide financial reports and financial management services
    • Use data for additional responsibilities such as taxation, spending and earning reports
    • Work with the auditor to make ensure spending is done. according to the law and the organization’s specifications
    • Creation of reports that would update the unit of its financial standing

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Minimum of a degree in a relevant discipline
    • 1-3 years experience
    • Must be a chartered accountant
    • Not more than 35 years of age

    Store Controller

     

    Responsibilities

    • Undertake a daily assessment of weighing requirements for stock and urgent orders
    • Ensure high quality standards are maintained and all product documentation is accurately presented with the goods.
    • Accurately update computerized stock systems with weighing and stock data.
    • Ensure a thorough and accurate record of weighing documentation is maintained.
    • Make necessary arrangements for products requiring special preparation or packaging.
    • Ensure orders are assembled, packaged and dispatched correctly and Maintain an up-to-date knowledge current stock pricing and availability
    • Ensure all consumables etc. required to prepare products and fulfil orders are on hand and in the appropriate quantities.
    • Receive products into stock, updating in-house computerized systems.
    • Keep all stocks appropriately distributed to all units required & to ensure availability to customers.
    • Ensure products are stored correctly (e.g. temperature, moisture).
    • Recording serial numbers where applicable.
    • Organising stock on shelves and buckets.
    • Place stock in designated areas for ongoing projects.
    • Monthly stock take and reconciliation of stock.
    • Testing returns and repair equipment.
    • Arranging repairs and returns with manufacturers and suppliers.
    • Arrange for Quality Control tests to be carried out, as required, and disseminate the results in a timely manner.
    • Identify improvements to working procedures in order to enhance efficiency and the working environment.
    • Provide support and absence cover for stock controller responsibilities as required and undertake all other duties as assigned
    • Represent the company in a professional manner
    • Processing purchase orders.
    • Receiving Deliveries.
    • Reconciling Delivery notes with purchase orders.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Minimum of a degree in any relevant discipline.
    • 1-3 years relevant experience

    Cinema Team Supervisor

     

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in supervising opening and closing of food service operation
    • Assist in the supervision, scheduling of staff and gives input with evaluating, and disciplining of all Food
    • Maintains effective communication with managers, fellow supervisors, subordinates and all other co workers
    • Assists in the supervision of organization and sanitation of hall, kitchen, storage areas, and loading dock
    • Ensures proper portioning of foods, attractive plate presentation and service of required diets for meals, nourishment and snacks
    • Satisfies guests and staff with services.

    Qualification and Requirements

    • Good communication skills
    • Minimum of HND with one or two working experience
    • Candidate should be able to work with little or no supervision

    I.T / Projectionist

     

    Job Description

    • Installing, supporting and maintaining new server hardware and software infrastructure;
    • Managing email, anti-spam and virus protection;
    • Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords;
    • Monitoring network usage;
    • Ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers;
    • Suggesting and providing IT solutions to business and management problems;
    • Ensuring that all IT equipment complies with industry standards;
    • Analyzing and resolving faults, ranging from a major system crash to a forgotten password;
    • Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security, particularly if the network connects to the internet;
    • Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence;
    • Ensure all equipment are working properly
    • Ensure all equipment are properly serviced with extra care according to plan
    • Ensure equipment room is always clean and maintained
    • Health and Safety standard are followed and no risks for cinema business
    • Report all critical technical matter to CM with immediate effect
    • Ensure equipment cleaning always available and utilized accordingly
    • Ensure films are always on time according cinema film schedule
    • Ensure presentation is not compromised and shown to highest standard
    • Weekly produce Technical Report to CM for review.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Minimum of B.Sc. in any related discipline.
    • Knowledge of hardware, software and telephony infrastructure
    • Knowledge of network systems software packages
    • Knowledge of infrastructure upgrades projects
    • Knowledge with editing of media / video materials, such as raw footage / trailers
    • At least 1 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong time management skills
    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • A team player.

    Cinema Team Member/ Sales Attendant

    • As an GDC Team Member, you will be the first point of contact for all of our guests.
    • You will need to be a friendly, energetic people person, someone who can work in a team and meet and greet everyone who visits, making them feel like stars.
    • You could be serving our guests at the box office, keeping the cinema tidy on and off screen or selling our retail offers to make sure that our guests will never be hungry whilst watching their chosen film.

    Responsibilities

    • To ensure the safety of all employees and guests through complying with all company Health & Safety practices
    • Embrace all aspects of Lights, Camera Action to deliver premier guest service differentiating Genesis Deluxe Cinemas from our competitors
    • To maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout the cinema
    • To serve all retail products as per company guidelines and to support all promotional initiatives
    • To be accountable for all company monies and stocks within own control
    • To fully understand own role in emergency situations
    • To comply with company policies and procedures

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Minimum of OND in any related field
    • Minimum of 1-3 years experience
    • Minimum of entry level or 1 year experience
    • Must have a very good oral and written skills

    Maintenance Officer

     

    Job Description

    • Must perform task like repairing of various equipments and materials, replacement of electronics, painting, cleaning or wiring work
    • Also maintenance of electronics like refrigerators, television sets, air conditioners etc must be done regularly.
    • Solving guest complains in time.
    • To keep a check that safety equipments like fire alarm, fire extinguisher etc are in place and are in working condition.
    • Refurbishing of chairs, tables, doors, windows and counters in order to keep it maintained for a long time.
    • Ground maintenance like cleaning and maintenance of parking lot, garden or landscaping, swimming pool etc.
    • Must be on call 24/7 for emergency to know if guest have any grievances.
    • Training the junior staff.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Minimum of Degree in related discipline
    • 1-3 years experience in similar role
