    Quality Control Supervisor

    Responsibilities
    Successful candidate will among other things perform the following:

    • Assist with timely production of inoculum for aflasafe production:
    • Ensure quality control of sorghum grains before and after aflasafe production:
    • Ensure the purity of aflasafe strains before aflasafe production:
    • Ability to identify Aspergillus species using standard protocols:
    • Ability to identify other contaminants on aflasafe on the final product:
    • Assist with coordinating microbiology activities in the laboratory:
    • Assist with proper data entry in lab books and on pathology network:
    • Assist with culture/isolate storage appropriately:
    • Prepare draft standard operating protocols for laboratory methods with scientists:
    • Provide assistance/guidance to visiting students/scientists:

    Educational Qualifications

    • B.Sc in Microbiology/Plant Pathology/Crop Protection with at least four (4) years experience in a microbiology research laboratory.

    Requirements

    • Have experience in Aspergillus microbiology research
    • Be able to build, coordinate and work in teams.
    • Be able to follow instructions and work independently where necessary.
    • Have good interpersonal relations.
    • Have good organizational, communication skills.
    • Be able to work under pressure.
    • Be available to work

    Germplasm Dispatch Assistant

    • Compile the list of research inputs for procurement from both local and oversee suppliers in a database to facilitate the timely collection of the necessary items for running trials and nurseries in and outside of lbadan;
    • Arrange inputs and other supplies maintained in the maize unit stores in good order to facilitate easy retrieval of the required items for use in the unit;
    • Keep computerized records of regional trial and seed requests from collaborators and arrange for timely shipment of the requested seeds and trials;
    • Document records of number of trials and quantity of seeds supplied to collaborators, various institutions and scientists in a data base;
    • Arrange seeds maintained in cold stores in good order facilitate easy retrieval during seed preparation using bar codes;

    Educational Qualifications

    • B.Sc/HND in Business Administration or General Agriculture.
    • Minimum of Three (3) years’ experience in related field.

    Requirements

    • Good communication skills.
    • Be a team player.
