    PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

    Encompasses the organisational responsibility for the management of the Company’s Operations Control Centre & Charter Departments. Deputises in the absence of the VP Operations Control Centre. 

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILIES

    • The efficient administration of the Operations Control Centre and Charter Departments in all it’s aspects and, through his subordinates, for all Company activities within these Departments, including the organisation, efficiency, welfare and discipline of staff and providing leadership and training where appropriate to meet the current or future business requirements of each Department.
    • Ensuring that the systems and procedures within the Charter Department provide customers and other Company departments with all the required information.
    • Being responsible for pricing policy for charter flight quotations and other matters affecting sales processing.
    • Ensuring that a Duty Watch is maintained throughout the period when aircraft operations are taking place.
    • The co-ordination of all activities in the Operations Control Centre and Charter Departments, and between department’s third party service providers such as ground handlers, fuel suppliers, caterers, airport authorities and other carriers.
    • Maintaining and administrating Departmental leave rosters.
    • Compilation and amendments to the Company’s Operations Manual which have an administrative content as opposed to an operational content, within terms and regulations of the Air Navigation Order, as amended, including:Production of amendments.
    • Ensuring the amending of manuals which are not assigned to specific members of the Company.
    • Seeing that amendments have been properly made and recorded by staff who do have assigned manuals (for this purpose he shall maintain an amendment record system).
    • Matters of Administration
    • Commenting on discretion reports and bringing them to the attention of the General Manager Flight Operations.
    • Reading reports of all kinds made by Company aircrew and sending them (or copies) to the appropriate recipients. (Those concerned with aircraft and/or flight safety will need to be seen by the Company Flight Safety Officer).
    • Maintaining a close liaison with the Company’s General Manager Engineering on all matters concerning the continued serviceability of the Company’s fleet with specific regard to maintaining contract commitments and schedules.
    • Undertaking any further duties as allocated by the Chief Operating Officer.

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor Degree
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in Operations environment, at least 2 years within a Crewing or Rostering department on a Supervisory or Management position
    • Extensive knowledge of crewing software application (AIMS, Geneva, Rocade or similar). PC literate
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Good staff management and organizational skills with the ability to work on own initiative

    Vice President of Global Sales and Distribution

    PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

    Provide leadership and coordination in the execution of policies related to all sales and distribution functions within the company by developing and implementing a robust sales and distribution strategy to achieve commercial targets. 

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Overhaul, develop and implement the Sales & Distribution strategy for the Company in consultation with SVPC and in line with the commercial strategy for the company.
    • Define the appropriate sales organization to deliver growth and commercial targets.
    • Lead and manage all sales activities to maximize market share and revenue across all distribution channels.
    • Oversee and manage all aspects of sales and, distribution channels determining corporate positioning, customer segment selection, penetration plans and product positioning.
    • Manage, lead, motivate and mentor a high achieving professional sales team.
    • Develop, promote and secure contracts with travel trade, TMCs, government, corporate/SMEs, GSAs and PSAs.
    • Develop market growth opportunities including introduction of new distribution channels and sales outlets to increase and maximize revenues.
    • Define and direct internal and external sales programmes, campaigns and incentives.
    • Work closely with VP Marketing/SVPC to develop and manage channel and partner strategies and programmes.
    • Oversee product introduction, sales training, presentations, sales tools and general sales support for the business.
    • Analyze sales forecasts and business data making recommendations to adjust tactics in order to increase market share, load factors and maximize revenues/yield.
    • Build the Company brand through inputs into all aspects of marketing communications including but not limited to PR, advertising, trade shows, sponsorships, collateral material, product development, social media, events, promotions and web content.
    • Implement customer retention programmes and improve sales cycle, policies, procedures and service standards.
    • Work closely with the Senior Management to identify and develop opportunities, raise venture/ financing, communicate and present to Financial partners/ECAs/Manufacturers.
    • Define the company’s revenue budget and sales targets for the regions/personnel.
    • Manage special projects including JVs, alliances and code share agreements.
    • Directly oversee high value customers, contracts and top tier corporate accounts.
    • Develop and implement interline agreements and negotiate prorate agreements.
    • Develop relationships with suppliers for product development including CRS/GDS providers, IATA and industry partners.
    • Manage integrity of revenue collection; ensure payments are in accordance with contractual provisions, shortfalls are collected and debt is recovered.
    • Ensure Performance Plans and Reviews, including training and development requirements are completed for direct reports and all members of the sales team.
    • Perform other duties as required by the Board and Deputise for SVPC when needed.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    • Masters degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
    • Minimum of 10 years proven experience in all aspects of airline commercial activities at a senior level with special focus on sales and distribution.
    • Extensive leadership and management experience developed in the aviation industry.
    • Proven strategic planning ability with commercial acumen with advanced analytical skills.
    • Strong written communication skills with ability to draft board papers, contracts and commercial agreements.
    • Advanced IT skills with particular emphasis on Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Power Point, Access, Excel), and good working knowledge of GDSs, CRS, DCS, MIDT and Revenue Accounting financial systems.
    • Experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and FFP schemes would be an advantage.
    • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships within all levels of the Company, Executives, the Board, statutory authorities, government representatives and clients.
    • Unrestricted passport with ability to travel at short notice to local, regional and international destinations.

    Vice President of Revenue Management

    PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

    To head the development and implementation of revenue planning, revenue management and forecasting systems, to enable revenue generation controls and to infuse best practices in inventory management. Provides the network with competitive pricing and distribution support, to generate revenues while maximizing yields.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Monitor company and competitor Fares, Unpublished fares, seasonal trends and also to monitor filed fares in various CRS’s and on line portals.
    • Perform comprehensive evaluations and analysis across other airlines and fare proposals to be submitted to company pricing for approval
    • Maintain complete database of all market fares types and ensure transparent distribution to all involved departments.
    • Using pricing/distribution databases and systems relevant to revenue management.
    • The ability to provide innovative and creative solutions through working with internal and external partners with appropriate speed and response.
    • Work with regional sales team and sales support to improve understanding & use of business data and metrics.
    • Manage and administer the company pricing strategy, electronic and paper distribution of passenger fares and rules via all available distribution channels, including internet on a selective basis, and directly to the company’s corporate and trade customers.
    • Understand and implement the complete tariff process and be aware of industry changes and distribution enhancements for the airline, travel agency, GDS, GNE channels.
    • Maintain and develop a strong understanding and control of our fares, while filing public and private fares in ATPCO database for global distribution.
    • Monitor and resolve all fares/tax related issues with CRS and global GDS systems.
    • Conduct random fare audits by checking ticketed data with fare-circulars or as per IATA published fares, and in case of discrepancies, instruct Accounts to raise ADMs as required.
    • Oversee the pricing of airline documents at correct applicable rates in accordance with governing multilateral and specific prorate agreements.

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 5 years required in the airline industry with qualification in tariff and ticketing disciplines
    • 2-3 years data and business analysis & report production, ideally in commercial and sales environment.
    • Good knowledge of the African market and the West Africa region
    • Expert level proficiency in MS Office applications (word, outlook, express, excel, project, power point etc)
    • Knowledge of the functionalities of the GDSs, CRS, CRM, Revenue Reporting, BIDT, MIDT, PROS etc would be an advantage
    • Advanced level Fares and Ticketing courses from Airlines/IATA.
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications with advanced MS Excel and Power Point skills.
    • Good knowledge of the functionalities of Revenue Management Systems
    • Previous experience working in Airline Yield Improvement or Pricing committees would be an advantage.
    • Previous experience in revenue accounting, preferably in interline rejections/dispute would be an asset.

Monitor market trends and recommend strategies to help achieve commercial initiatives and objectives. To build and maintain goodwill and relationships with travel management companies and attend industry functions on a regular basis to establish contacts, network and promote the interests of the Company. Develop and implement effective sales and marketing plans, negotiate corporate deals and incentive agreements, closely monitor sales performance and visit both travel management companies and corporate clients on the required call frequency basis and provide regular sales reports to ensure the AVP Global Sales and Distribution is well informed of market conditions, trends and competitor activities and to make recommendations as appropriate.

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    • Must have experience and knowledge of all aspects of the airline sales environment, including previous experience in a management capacity
    • Must have the ability to analyse and interpret statistical information for presentation to management and demonstrate ability towards territorial management.
    • Must be able to communicate and fluently and effectively in both written and spoke English
    • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint to the extent of been able to produce the required reports and presentations

    • Full interaction with the Commercial Department at all levels
    • External interaction clients, statutory authorities and other third parties
