    Group Head, Finance

    Job Summary

    To achieve cost-effective utilisation of accounting and financial resources, through the definition and enforcement of Financial Standards, Policies and Procedures. The individual will to perform the following responsibilities and report directly to the Group Managing Director

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Develops and implements a robust and reliable financial accounting and reporting system in compliance with statutory requirements
    • Engages Executive Management and the appropriate Board Committee to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections
    • Develops and utilises financial models and activity-based financial analysis to provide a basis for investment decisions and business planning
    • Manages key banking relationships to facilitate proper, timely and cost-effective funding of business operations
    • Develops and maintains a system of appropriate financial policies, procedures and control to ensure efficient financial management
    • Monitors all third-party payments to ensure that such payments are justified by the value of work successfully completed and are in alignment with the approved budget
    • Reviews weekly financial reports submitted by relevant departments/units and presents timely reports to the Board of Directors
    • Oversees the preparation and communication of timely, accurate, and useful financial and management reports for management on a periodic and/or ad-hoc basis
    • Coordinates the preparation of the company’s financial reports and statutory reporting process
    • Raises funds as approved by the Board of Directors, to finance activities
    • Works to ensure that adequate controls are in place to facilitate seamless payment system
    • Puts in place measures or controls to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately captured and reported
    • Approves accruals and adjustments on erroneously posted financial transactions into the financial system
    • Liaises with external auditors to discuss and resolve queries as they arise to ensure seamless audit exercise
    • Develops and manages relationships with relevant bodies/contracts, e.g., regulatory organisations auditors, solicitors, bankers, etc.
    • Responds to relevant requests from financial institutions
    • Approves payrolls along with the Head-Human Capital to facilitate payment to staff
    • Advises Executive Management on changes in financial regulations, legislations and government tariffs
    • Manages the treasury assets to achieve optimal sourcing, application and growth of funds
    • Provides technical training, guidance and advise on financial accounting issues, developments and trends to other business or departmental heads
    • Oversees day-to-day accounting transactions and provides leadership to the Finance Department

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant experience, 5 of which have been in an Executive Management position of an organisation, interfacing with the Executive team and financial partners. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline
    • Relevant professional certifications, e.g., Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent
    • Experience of statutory financial reporting and knowledge of GAAP, IFRS
    • MBA or Master’s degree in a related discipline is an advantage

    Group Head, Information Technology

    Job Summary

    The job holder will be responsible for the overall planning, organising, and execution of all IT functions across the Group. This includes directing all IT operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. The individual will perform the following responsibilities and report directly to the executive Director of the company

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Determine the most appropriate design of infrastructure to support the business, taking into account prevailing best practices and technologies
    • Ensure that IT and IS systems, infrastructure and stored data are secure against internal and external threats and position effective and appropriate measures for risk management and information security
    • Sets annual targets related to IT operations and monitor the overall performance of the entire department
    • Evaluates new information systems products or services and suggests changes to existing products or services to better aide the end user
    • Maintains working relationships with vendors and third party providers, ensuring contracts are kept up to date and cost maintenance strategies are assessed and analysed on a periodic basis
    • Directs and priorities the workload of subordinate personnel
    • Ensures maximum issue resolutions in minimum time
    • Recommends appropriate maintenance strategies to ensure uninterrupted systems usage and proper backup and recovery procedures are adhered to
    • Recommends adjustments to systems and/or equipment to ensure cost efficient and effective systems/equipment infrastructure
    • Monitors network security and supervise the entire network system of the organisation
    • Prepare and monitor a disaster recovery, including backups of servers
    • Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourced suppliers and consultant services agreements and contracts

    Required Qualification:

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or any related discipline
    • Relevant professional certification
    • Minimum of 9 years work experience with at least four (4) heading an IT function
    • Experience administering an ERP application e.g. Microsoft Dynamics-NAV
    • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field will be an added advantage

    Skills and Competencies

    • In-depth knowledge of Windows servers including Active Directory, Exchange and Microsoft SQL
    • Advanced computer hardware and software knowledge and skills
    • Working knowledge of hardware and networking basics

    Tax Accountant

    Job Summary

    The job holder will be responsible for calculating, remitting and filing tax returns on behalf of employees and the organisation as a whole. The individual will perform the under listed responsibilities and report to the Head, Tax Management

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Participates in the tax planning process to ensure all tax liabilities are minimized to the barest minimum
    • Liaises with tax consultants on tax related issues
    • Prepares tax computations for withholding tax, Value Added Tax, PAYE and Company Income Tax
    • Processes tax documents for payment and remitting the tax liabilities, going to the Inland Revenue Service where necessary
    • Maintains and updates relevant tax schedules (reports)
    • Obtains tax clearance certificates for staff and for the company as a whole
    • Monitors the activities and performance of tax consultants and makes reports to the Head – Tax Management
    • Liaises with the Financial Accountant to facilitate the prompt and accurate remittance of tax liability in compliance with requirements of tax regulatory authorities
    • Advises against potential tax liabilities

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Finance/Accounting or any related discipline
    • Relevant professional certification e.g. Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) is an advantage
    • Minimum of 5 years work experience in the finance/tax/accounts function in a similar organisation preferably in an accounting firm
