• Act as Grade 2 teacher, following the timetable as agreed with the Head;
• Act as the G7 / 8 Agriculture and Business studies teacher;
• Be responsible for the education and welfare of the assigned pupils;

Qualification and Experience

• BSc/HND in Agronomy/Crop Science in Agronomy with 2 years research experience.
• Coordinate and expand IITA’s portfolio of donor-funded projects on mycotoxins and biological control of aflatoxins.
• Serve as the link between IITA’s mycotoxin research group and CGIAR’s Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH) Program.
• Provide leadership for interdisciplinary research leading to management of important diseases of cereal, legumes, roots and tuber crops in West and Central Africa.
• Study biology and epidemiology of diseases to generate a good understanding of the host-pathogen-environment systems that can further help to develop strategies for disease management.
• Mentor and backstop graduate students and national and regional staff responsible for research and regulatory systems.
• Lead and support initiatives to raise funds for projects, targeted activities and meetings.
• Routinely communicate research results through media outlets, communication channels and through the publication of peer reviewed journals.
• Develop and nurture effective partnerships and collaborative relationships.
Duty station: The position will be based at the IITA Headquarters and Regional Hub for West Africa in Ibadan, Nigeria, but will involve extensive travel within and outside Africa and include management of staff in countries across the target area of Eastern, Southern and Central Africa.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a PhD in plant pathology, with more than 7 years of post-PhD experience in plant pathology and mycotoxin research.
• Experience in pathogen diversity, host-plant resistance and disease management research and corresponding publication record.
• Experience in use of molecular biology and statistical tools to study pathogen diversity and ecology is essential.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams, national agriculture Research Systems, farmers, special interest groups, government officials, and consumers.
• Demonstrated experience in seeking grants and management of large-scale projects.
• Demonstrated ability to write and publish journal articles.
• Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural environment.
Qualification and Experience
BSc/HND in Microbiology/Plant Pathology/Crop Protection. At least four (4) years experience in a microbiology research laboratory
• Assist with crop samples preparation for aflatoxin analysis;
• Assist with extraction of aflatoxin from different crop samples;
• Assist with proper detoxification of glasswares and all equipments used for extraction;
• Take proper inventory and labelling of samples for extraction in the laboratory;
• Follow standards operating protocols for laboratory methods with scientists;
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
WASC plus at least two (2) years relevant experience in a Microbiological research laboratory.
• Handling all panel beating and accident jobs.
• Repairing damaged containers, canopies and equipment.
• Removal and replacement of windscreen and window.
• Repairing and/or replacing doors and window regulators, door locks, bonnet and booth lock.
• Body filling and dressing.
• Keeping and rendering records of workshop jobs.
• Cleaning and maintenance of workshop and equipment
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
Trade Test I/Apprentice certificate in Panel Beating or OND in related discipline with at least two (2) years relevant experience.
• Preparation of vehicles and equipment for spraying
• Mixing paints for matching colour
• Assisting on panel and body repair work
• Keeping and rendering records of workshop jobs
• Cleaning and maintenance of workshops and equipment
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor;
Qualification and Experience
Trade Test I/Apprentice certificate in Painting or OND in related discipline with at least two (2) years relevant experience.
• Discuss the objectives, requirements and budget of a project;
• Consulting with other professionals about design;
• Preparing and presenting feasibility reports and design proposals to the client;
• Advising the client on the practicality of their project;
• Using IT in design and project management, specifically using computer-aided design software;
• Producing detailed workings, drawings and specifications for IITA;
• Specifying the nature and quality of materials required;
• Preparing tender applications and presentations;
• Preparing applications for planning and building control departments;
• project managing and helping to coordinate the work of contractors;
• Coordinate a project from start to finish;
• Regular site visits to check on progress, ensuring that the project is running on time and to budget;
• Resolving problems and issues that arise during construction;
• Ensuring that the environmental impact of the project is managed;
• Assist in renovation of houses in the residential and office quarters;
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time;
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
B.Sc/HND in Architecture or equivalent closely related field with two (2) years relevant experience
