    Head, Finance and Accounts

    Division/Department - Shared Services
    Location: Subsidiary, Lagos

    Job Purpose

    • To coordinate the financial activities of each subsidiary/ business unit (including planning, budgeting, forecasting and fund sourcing) in order to ensure optimal returns on investments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develops annual plans and budgets for the Finance department to support the achievement of the corporate strategy.
    • Liaises with the CFO to develop, update, and implement financial and accounting policies, procedures, and strategies across each subsidiary.
    • Advises Executive management to changes in financial regulations, legislation as well as changes in competition and market trends.
    • Establishes and maintains accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data is available for business operations and planning.
    • Provides financial advice on the organisation s short, medium and long term cash, funding, and risk situation to Executive management.
    • Coordinates the preparation of the corporate budget and supports Heads of departments in the formulation of cost management measures.
    • Develops and implements a robust and reliable financial reporting system for the Subsidiary.
    • Develops and manages relationships with relevant external bodies/ contacts e.g. regulatory organisations, auditors, solicitors, banks etc.
    • Oversees the prompt administration of monthly payrolls, staff allowances and benefits, tax remittance, payment of insurance premiums and other statutory fees.
    • Liaises with external and internal Auditors for the smooth performance audit operations, and deals with any queries from the Auditors.

    Person Specification

    • First degree in Finance/ Accounting/ Business Administration or related discipline.
    • Masters degree in a related discipline.
    • Relevant professional certifications e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA).
    • 10 years post-graduation experience, 3 of which must have been in a Management position interfacing with the Executive management.

    Key Skills and Competencies:

    • Highly skilled in corporate finance methodologies, risk management, forecasting and control.
    • Good knowledge of best practice finance policies and procedures.
    • Good knowledge of accounting systems and practices.
    • Proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications for financial reporting.
    • Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
    • Excellent coaching and people management skills.
    • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.

    Executive Assistant to GMD

    Division/Department - Office of the GMD
    Location: Head Office, Lagos

    Job Purpose

    • To serve as the administrative and functional point person for the GMD s corporate, and community matters to ensure smooth functioning of activities and processes within the Group.

    Key Responsibilities
    General:

    • Coordinates the calendar (e.g. travel, accommodation, meeting, and schedule arrangements) for the GMD and visiting business partners. This includes initiating contact and securing appointments, and facilities as appropriate.
    • Works closely with other team members to ensure the GMD s preparation for meetings, presentations or other engagements.
    • Attend Executive management meetings and document the proceedings of such meetings. Follow up on recommendations and action points involving the GMD s attention.

    Research & Business Development:

    • Ensures that the Group takes full advantage of and benefits from emerging and future business opportunities in the operating environment.
    • Maintains and updates data on market development and changing trends to enable the Group proactively respond and take advantage of emerging opportunities and challenges.
    • Ensures availability of data for planning and decision making on the Group's business strategy, development and growth imperatives.
    • Assists in business case development and analysis to support business decision.

    Public Sector Relations:

    • Promote and protect the Group s image and interest with the Government and regulatory agencies.
    • Responds to requests, complaints and serves as a liaison between the Origin Group and the public sector to resolve issues.
    • Participates in identifying opportunities to leverage existing government programs and to create new ones that facilitate the sale and promotion of products
    • Identifies and builds a network of internal and external contacts within the community, government and regulatory agencies.
    • Manage multiple projects and relationships as assigned by the GMD related to business and community interests.

    Person Specification

    • First degree in Business Administration, Management, Public relations or a related discipline
    • Master s degree in relevant discipline
    • 5 years post-graduation experience in a similar role.

    Chief Operating Officer (VEGEFRESH)

    Division/Department - Group
    Location: Head Office, Lagos

    Job Purpose

    • To provide leadership and direction for all business operations in VegeFresh, and to facilitate the achievement of established financial and business targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provides leadership and direction to the operations of VegeFresh.
    • Plans and directs the activities of VegeFresh to achieve stated goals and standards for financial and business performance.
    • Monitors and supports subordinates to ensure that set targets are achieved and overall performance improved.
    • Develops relationships with external suppliers to ensure that VegeFresh delivers the highest quality product and the highest financial return.
    • Ensures strict compliance with all relevant hygiene and safety legislation and requirements.
    • Oversees the production process, draws up a production schedule, and ensures that the production process is cost effective.
    • Monitors the production process and product standards, and implements quality-control programmes.
    • Initiates and implements business development strategies and plans to ensure that the VegeFresh products remain competitive in the market.
    • Reviews and reports regularly to the Director, Group Subsidiaries on the performance of products, achieved business performance, and development plans of VegeFresh.
    • Creates and manages contacts and relationships with key industry players and stakeholders.
    • Acts as the image maker and representative in matters involving VegeFresh and other parties.
    • Guides and monitors compliance with relevant company policies, procedures and regulatory provisions.
