    IT System Administrator

    Responsibilities   

    The IT System Administrator will be responsible for design, installation, setup, and administration of current and future storage systems in a 24x7x365 environment, he will also work with a team which include infrastructure engineers, data base administrators, software development engineers and business liaisons to obtain data and storage requirements and deliver solutions

    Specifically, the IP System Administrator’s responsibilities shall include:

    •     Knowledge of and experience with Computer and Server Hardware LANS/WANS; Windows Server Environment, Microsoft SQL Server; Microsoft Exchange; Internet Information Services; Oracle, backup systems
    •     Knowledge of IT security solutions, Cisco Firewall, Enterprise Anti-Virus, IPS, Anti-SPAM solution.
    •     Responsible for backup/archive storage configuration and maintenance in a SAN environment.
    •     Capacity planning and implementation of SAN, Backup and Archive infrastructure
    •     Schedule backup jobs based on documented procedures and schedules
    •     Implement and Support VMware infrastructure
    •     Work with infrastructure owners to test and verify data Backups and archives
    •     DBA support Oracle and SQL Database SW environments plus UNIX Sys Admin
    •     Work closely with Technical Support Manager IT & team to define a and implement standard practices for our UNIX environment and users
    •     Day-to-day proactive monitoring, including monitoring error logs, database and log space, user activity, and resource utilization
    •     Database backup and recovery
    •     Creating and implementing best practices guidelines and policies
    •     Sound knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4 and CIDR

    Qualifications:   

    •     Minimum BSc. Degree in Computer Science or in a related discipline.
    •     Minimum 5 years networking, database and Security industry experience.

    •     Knowledge of and experience with: Information systems, Unix/Linux, Windows AD, ERPs, LANS/WANS; Windows Server Environment, Microsoft SQL Server; Microsoft Exchange; Internet Information Services; Oracle; Web design, software development languages; backup systems

    Demands on the Job:   

    •     Strong written and verbal skills
    •     Ability to work independently
    •     Ability to resolve issues in a timely fashion
    •     Availability to work overtime in times of emergency and specialized project deliveries.
