    Underwriter - Team Lead

    Job description

    Strategic 20%
    Support data analysis to identify improved risk assessment decisions.
    Provide feedback for underwriting policy reviews and update.
    Support strategic initiatives in terms of risk scoring, ID checking and automated acceptance.

    Day to Day (80%)
    Manage daily Loan Origination Chain from data entry to approval stage.
    Perform detailed analysis on loan applications with reference to One Credit policies to assess suitability and affordability of applicants

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Disburse 98% of One Credit Loans within agreed turn-around-time
    • Achieve less than 1% operational fraud loss
    • Achieve less than 1% loss due to underwriting errors
    • Achieve one underwriting policy improvement per quarter
    • Perform data checks and verification to ensure accurate customer information is captured for all One credit applicant.
    • Ensure appropriate KYC and credit reference checks are completed as part of the loan application process.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Good education with minimum of 3 years work experience
    • Preferably in Retail Credit or Risk Management 
    • Must be able to build, develop and grow team
    • Must be able to handle assigned projects from concept to realization with little to no supervision
    • Must be able to achieve customer satisfaction within a highly regulated environment
    • Must have good attention to details, critical reasoning and problem solving skills

    MIS Analytics Officer

    Job description

    (a) Obtain accurate and timely data and produce a number of reports, regular and ad-hoc, designed to inform Management and Board about key aspects of the business: Customer Experience; Sales, Credit and Operational Risk. (b) Through analysis of data and trends, make recommendations for change.                                                                                                      

    Reporting
    Provide MIS and portfolio analytics in a timely manner. 

    Produce monthly MI packs and other periodic/adhoc reports to cover the following areas
        Leads Management and Sales Analysis
        Turn-Around-Time (TAT)
        Through-the-door Analysis
        Delinquency (Various cuts)/ NPLs
        Fraud Tracking (FPD and Non Starters)
        Net flow/ Loss Rate
        Collections
        Customer Service reports etc.  

    Analytics
    Data analysis, data mining and predictive modelling applied to all products and markets.
    Responsible for ensuring the collection of the right data that supports business objectives.
    Lead in introducing concepts and ideas that generate the right kinds of analytics and trends that allow for optimization and efficiency throughout the organization.

    Others
    Collection queue definition, management and reporting; perform periodic test to ensure collection efficiency.
    Provide collection policy and strategy feedback
     
    Desired Skills and Experience
    A University degree in any numerate

    Risk Policy

    Establish and implement principles and credit policies that are aligned to the needs of One Credit.
    Implement credit policies in a timely and proactive manner that supports profitable portfolio growth and minimized exposure to unprofitably high risk segments/ markets.
    Maintain risk policy documentation and communication channels to all business partners.
    Credit Scoring and underwriting policies 

    Analytics and Business Intelligence 

    Manage the performance of the portfolios by providing MIS and any necessary analysis to senior management in a timely manner. Produce detail monthly risk packs and periodic business intelligence reports. 

    Provide data mining and analytical support for various credit risk initiatives. This includes but not limited to

    1. Customer profiling
    2. Marketing
    3. Sales 
    4. Collections and Recovery

    Own the design and pilot programs for consumer lending and credit card products.

    Desired Skills and Experience 

    Minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
    Preferably in Consumer Risk Management, Finance Support or Performance Management

    Compliance and Fraud Officer

    ROLE-PURPOSE
    (a) To ensure compliance with agreed procedures. (b)To ensure operational losses are kept to a minimum. (c) To prevent fraud. (d) To ensure lessons are learned from any fraudulent activity, controls improved and no recurrence.(e) No regulatory breaches.                                                                                                      

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Analyse all first payment defaults, non-starters and severe collection cases to confirm due diligence in the underwriting process and determine root cause.
    Perform compliance spot check and reviews on customer files – applications and loans disbursed.
    Monitor and promptly report all fraud incidents- actual and attempted - and ensure records/files are kept for future reference
    Investigate fraud incidents to ensure cases are properly investigated, lessons learned and recommendations for change made
    Stay on top of the latest trends and developments in the fraud industry and circulate current fraud trends and other awareness material to the applicable teams.
    Implement fraud prevention and anti-fraud management tools; automate processes.
    Revenue assurance – review all income lines and GL to ensure correctness and prevent loss of revenue.
    Follow up to ensure that all regulatory reports/returns are made on time

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

        Operational Loss Rates and Trends
        Timeliness and accuracy of reports
        Relevance and quality of recommendations and forecasts
        Regulatory fines

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    A University degree in a numerate or finance degree
