    Role Summary/Purpose:     The position will be responsible for oversight of sustainability efforts in GE Africa working with internal/external key stakeholders regarding environmental sustainability, economic policy and social responsibility.

    Essential Responsibilities:     Working with regional and business leaders to set the strategy and approach of CSR (social, governance, environmental and economic sustainability) for the region:

    - Create and track measurable KPI's in each area
    - Establish operating rhythm for updates with functional/biz leaders and other key constituents; including regional/global CSR rating results
    - Maintain external relationships with NGO's, CSR raters and CSR conveners to keep a pulse on active CSR issues that may impact CSR strategy and/or CSR rater results
    - Develop and implement identified regional CSR projects for GE Africa
    - Manage regional CSR fund and coordinate selection of projects to be funded from local business and GE Foundation
    - Measure impact of local business and GE Foundation charitable giving in the region
    - Create guidelines and strategy on the NGO's approach in the region, including sponsorships and projects funding

    - Work with communicators to :
    o Communicate sustainability model and vision internally to all leaders and employees, and externally
    o Determine and implement external CSR media outlets to be utilized … leverage current Corp CSR contracts in place
    o Create regional level reporting mechanisms
    o Strengthen the company's reputation for 'making the world better' in the region. Reinforce GE's regional governance on sustainability
    o Provide quarterly updates to Citizenship website for the region

    Qualifications/Requirements:    
    - Bachelor degree/MBA in Social responsibility area or related field
    - 8 - 10 years of experience working on Environmental Sustainability", "Corporate Citizenship" and "Social Responsibility
    - Budgeting and resource management experience
    - Experience of partnership and multi sector working
    - Experience in Monitoring and Reporting on community initiatives and indicators
    - Proven experience in convening external groups with diverse agendas/opinions; with proven problem solving and influencing skills
    - Established network with external NGO's, CSR raters and CSR conveners
    - Proven experience influencing internal policies with senior leaders

    Role Summary/Purpose:     The GE Internship Program is an investment in young talents where GE trains students who meet the required criteria to perform their internship program in a corporate function. Program duration is 12 months; the program will develop the general skills of the intern with on the job knowledge and experience.

    Essential Responsibilities:     The EID-P&W Engineering/Technology Intern role is responsible for providing technical support to regional team to develop a pipeline of potential opportunities incorporating Thermal products throughout Inquiry to Order processes. The opportunity/orders are power plant of 40MW to few hundreds MW mainly in Nigeria. This individual will understand and develop strategies to influence customer economic evaluation criteria for thermal power generation capital investments.

    Key Responsibilities/essential functions include:
    - Proactively promote and position GE early in the project phase to create value and influence by working closely with consultants, developers, EPCs industry OEM partners and customers.
    - Provide technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing and developing competitive product applications.
    - Estimate GE equipment and system performance and hardware evaluation throughout the bid process.
    - Collect regional Voice of Customer and Voice of Market on the value of flexible generation solutions and support New Product Introduction activities.
    - Influence customers to understand and recognize the full economic value that Thermal product solutions provide.

    Qualifications/Requirements:    
    Currently studying for a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
    Minimum of Second class- Upper honors at the time of application
    Must be able to begin the internship from Jan 2015 and be available for at least 6 months
    Authorized to work in your country full-time and without restriction
    Proven communication and analytical skills along with a strategic mindset.
    Fluent in English.
    Self-driven with the ability to work in a global team
