    Our Company, is a not-for-profit umbrella body for construction companies in Nigeria. FOCI provides a platform for its members to pursue common interests within the law, provides a platform for its members to advocate in the interest of the sector in matters of concern to the construction sector and is the Employer Organization for construction and related companies in Nigeria.

    Description of FOCI Skills Academy

    The FOCI Skills Academy is a national provider of vocational training for the construction industry under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). We specialize in training and upskilling construction workers and people who wish to seek employment in the construction industry. Our vision is to be Nigeria's most innovative training provider of Construction Skills.

    1. Job Description:

    We are currently seeking an experienced Training Centre Manager (Abuja), to develop our training strategy, oversee its implementation and assess its outcomes. You will identify the training needs, then drive structured training courses meeting the planned program requirements and quality expectations of our members.

    In this role, you should be passionate about helping people learn and grow, fostering the development of solid skills that lead to quality workmanship and confident, conscientious workers. You embrace learner- centred education, seeking to inspire others towards becoming self-directed learners, problem solvers and independent thinkers. You are cognizant of the barriers to gender equity and obstacles imposed by disadvantage in education, and you are committed to changing these conditions through program design that enables inclusivity.

    1. Job Requirements:

    We seek an individual with combined strength in two domains, expressed as being either an educator by degree or training with demonstrated skills in the construction trades, or as a formally trained or degreed tradesperson with demonstrated skills as a trainer.

    • Proven experience as a trainer and or training centre operator who has worked at a reputable company for at least 6 years, including 3 years in the position of a senior trainer and responsible for staff training and development of training materials.
    • Alternatively, a B.Sc./B. Ed. In Education, Building Management or any other relevant field of study in addition to 4 years professional experience in Education and/or Business.
    • Track record in designing and executing successful training programmes.
    • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods.
    • Excellent communication skills in English.
    • Committed servant leadership and motivational skills.
    • Experience in project management, accounting and budgeting.
    • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to plan, multi-task, and manage time effectively on multiple assignments.
    • Good computer skills, including navigation of Windows platform, use of standard MS Office programs for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations and basic database entry. Also, must be comfortable on Teams, Meet, Zoom or other communication platforms and familiar with at least one online education- relevant platform such as Google Classroom, Moodle or MS Forms.
    • Strong documentation capacity for reports and training manuals.
    • Experience in designing technical course content and comprehensive pedagogical practice.
    • Ability to build rapport with employees, tradespersons, managers and vendors.
    • Fluency in another language is an advantage.
