    Senior Social Media Manager

    Position Summary

    • Pulse is looking for a Senior Social Media Manager to join the team. As a Senior Social Media Manager, you will develop and execute cool and interesting strategies and digitally-focused initiatives across social media channels aimed at engaging the client's audience.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • This position will be based in our Lagos office, reporting to the Director of Accounts & Operations.
    • Produce content calendars according to deadline and to the highest standard.
    • Responsible for proactively suggesting and implementing digital strategies to improve the quality of client campaigns.
    • Complete realisation of all strategies.
    • Ensure all work is delivered to the highest standard and on time.
    • Ensure proper QA is done before any work is shared with the client for review.
    • Implement strategies in accordance with the client’s requirements.
    • Ensure 100% time management.

    Relationship Management:

    • Responsible for community management across all social media campaigns and to the highest standard.
    • Confirm scheduled posts are live on the client's social media platforms.
    • Perform quality checks on published content.
    • Monitor, listen and respond to users in a “Social” way while nurturing and building leads and sales on client social platforms.
    • Monitor online reviews and respond to each review.
    • Become an advocate for the company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
    • Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the company. Report notable threats to appropriate management.
    • Build and sustain strong and long-lasting relationships with Accounts & Graphics teams.
    • Communicate effectively and efficiently to all team members.

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • At least Bachelor's Degree level of education preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Social Media Manager

    Content Designer

    Position Summary

    • We are looking for a talented Content Designer with great design skills to join our team.
    • You will translate client requirements into stunning designs and bring your creativity and fresh ideas to our client digital marketing efforts by creating incredible visuals that are attention-getting and on-brand.

    The Role

    • The Content Designer is a position we’re hiring for in our Lagos office. The role will report to the Director of Accounts & Operations.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Work with Clients/Account Managers to produce great designs.
    • Create designs and layouts with high visual impact that will appeal to the client's audience across the various platforms/channels.
    • Quality control of designs and layouts including proofreading for spelling and grammar.
    • Gather information and data for design briefs through research and demonstrate illustrative skills with and without rough sketches.
    • Work only with the approved images and design assets. If using other images or assets, then you will be responsible for securing the appropriate rights, licenses and clearances to avoid copyright infringement.
    • Work with a wide range of media, including photography and interactive design.
    • Ensure the proper organisation and backup of graphic design work.
    • Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media and keep up to date with design software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and other software from the Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
    • Maintain strong, trusting relationships with all internal and external partners - clients and internal teams.

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • At least a Bachelor’s Degree level of education is preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Content Designer.
    • Proven experience creating cool and impactful designs for client social media accounts.
    • Solid understanding of design principles and practices.
    • A good understanding of UI/UX design.
    • Understanding of motion graphics.

    Music Reporter

    Position Summary

    • Pulse is looking for a Music Reporter with a solid editorial/ journalistic background who will research, monitor, fact-check and write news stories surrounding the music industry with the Pulse audience in mind.
    • You will have a knack for breaking down complex topics to make them interesting, relatable and easy to understand.

    The Role

    • This position is based in our Lagos office, reporting to the Director of Content.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collect, verify, fact-check and analyze newsworthy information thoroughly.
    • Create and deliver music-related stories (article, video and/or social posts) with the audience’s perspective in mind.
    • Proofread your work to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc.
    • Work on assignments and investigate news leads/tips.
    • Contact, interview and research sources.
    • Maintain notes and audio/video recordings.
    • Collaborate with other reporters, video editors, social media managers, producers etc.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest current events in the industry by properly monitoring news, attending events and building contacts and sources for use in future stories.
    • Attend events and file reports in a timely manner.
    • Develop and publish weekly reviews, opinion pieces and music reports.
    • Edit and/or assist in editing and proofreading stories as assigned.
    • Ensure accuracy and consistency with the Pulse brand voice and adherence to the Pulse Content Framework.
    • Ensure published stories are fully compliant with copyright laws and are not plagiarized.
    • Actively contribute to the success of the Content team by developing story ideas, sourcing exclusive stories, and making other innovative suggestions.
    • Actively identify, suggest and implement strategies to increase the readership and reach of Pulse
    • Stay keyed into trends and the competitive landscape to ensure that Pulse as a media brand is always ahead of the curve.
    • Abide by the core principles of journalism, the code of ethics for Nigerian journalists, and worldwide journalistic ethics and standards.

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • Experience covering/ writing news and entertainment stories about the music industry for a digital publication.
    • Great networking skills to source news stories and secure interviews in the music industry
    • Passion for producing exclusive stories.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and a positive and enthusiastic phone presence.
    • Extremely self-motivated and diligent.
    • Good knowledge of Google Workspace - docs, sheets, drive, slides, etc.
    • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
    • A lot of energy, passion and enthusiasm.
