    Quality Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Officer

    Job Summary

    • The QHSE Officer will be fully responsible for implementing safe systems of work and safe behavioral practices at all levels of the organization.
    • He or she is expected to ensure employees are well educated and enlightened and safety and security policies of Minim and Tonye Nigeria Limited.
    • This person will work hand in hand with the QA/QC department to ensure proper safety policies in the bidding processes.

    Role and Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement and improve QHSE management systems, processes, and procedures to support business operations in accordance with ISO
    • Communicates information on the QHSE Management System throughout the organisation and promotes HSE awareness through various communication channels i.e. TBT, inductions, training, campaigns, flyers, discussions, emails etc. in consultation with all relevant departments.
    • Prepare QHSE documentation for clients/projects as per the requirements and in consultation with the BD / Operations team.
    • Undertake QHSE inspections internally and with third parties (contractors) as per the approved inspection program of the company. Follows up on the preventive and/or corrective actions identified during the inspections and monitors the timely closing of the actions in coordination with other departments.
    • Develops, facilitates, and reviews QHSE risk assessments for routine and non-routine activities in consultation with the operations team.
    • Record QHSE key performance indicators on a monthly basis and issue reports as necessary.
    • Suggest and advise changes to ensure continuous improvement on any additional effective KPIs to be added to the system as part of continual improvement
    • Develops, implements, and encourages the behavioral-based safety culture in the organization through safe job observations and top management inspections.
    • Support other QHSE staff and contract managers as and when required.
    • Actively participate in the HSE incident investigations and prepare required
    • reports in consultation with management.
    • Act as the company’s representative in all regulatory QHSE meetings, committees, CoE and seminars.
    • Diligently performs any other reasonable work or related tasks at the request of his/her manager

    Qualification and Experience

    • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in HSE or relevant
    • At least 5 years of proven industrial and preferably oil and gas experience.

    Proficiency:

    • Good knowledge of oil and gas safety practices and hazards.
    • General knowledge of Environmental hazards and HSE principles.
    • Innovative and continual improvement mindset.
    • Effective problem identification and problem-solving.
    • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
    • Maximum flexibility due to the nature of work
    • Excellent interpersonal and conflict-handling skills.
    • Able to transfer knowledge to colleagues, interns, and students
    • Ensure proper record keeping
    • Communicate accurately, correctly, timely, effectively, and in an appropriate manner using email, documentation, and verbally. Organizing and Reporting
    • Excellent planning and organizing skills.
    • Excellent workload and time management.
    • Able to create new reports and tools for use by employees and management. IT Skills

    Accountant

    Reports to: The Finance Manager

    Job Summary

    • The position of Accountant is a full-time role and consists of analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports, maintaining records of assets, liabilities, profit, and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.
    • This role may also be responsible for finance and administrative functions.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Be responsible for book-keeping and maintaining financial records
    • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
    • Manage imprest system
    • Process vendor and client invoices and payments
    • Handle accounts enquiries from both internal and external sources
    • Maintain transaction records and posting to appropriate general ledger
    • Manage reconciliations of bank accounts with related general ledgers
    • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements Manage financial and accounting software used by the company
    • Support in the budget preparation process
    • Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs
    • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
    • Produce monthly financial report
    • Produce management reports and other ad-hoc reports as may be required
    • Comply with financial policies and regulations
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls
    • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
    • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backup when necessary
    • Support the HR functions in payroll handling
    • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice
    • Provide all other support as may be required by the finance manager in the discharge of his responsibilities

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • A Bachelor's Degree (or its equivalent) in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Banking, and Finance, or any other numerate discipline
    • ICAN/ACCA qualification or part-qualification is an added advantage
    • 4 - 7 years work experience.
    • Proficiency in the use of accounting software, especially SAGE 50, SAP, is an added advantage
    • Competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
    • No more than 35 years old by 1 August 2022
    • Ability to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions;
    • Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
    • Attention to Detail - The job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
    • Integrity - The job requires being honest and ethical.
    • Dependability - The job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
    • Analytical Thinking - The job requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
