    Senior Technical Advisor - Adapting Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning

    Job Description

    • Senior Technical Advisor-Amerl is responsible for the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation for the ACE Project.
    • S/he will work with the State Team Leader to provide oversight role over Sub-recipients and Field Offices to ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities are appropriate and meet the donor and project’s M&E needs and requirements.
    • Provide oversight technical support to the designated Offices including interacting with M&E leads, Implementing Agencies and local research groups on needs and ensuring that locally employed Monitoring and Evaluation staff, consultants and AHNI partners understand and can support these requirements.
    • Manage the M&E reporting cycle to ensure high quality and complete datasets are sent on a periodic basis, or when required, work with local partners to develop their project monitoring and evaluation plans, support the correct implementation and use of routine data collection tools, conduct monthly routine monitoring visits to project sites and provide supportive supervision, provide the strategic guidance, vision, and management for successful monitoring and evaluation of project, work closely with subsequent key personnel and supervise M&E staff ensuring the strategic and functional integration of all M&E activities as well as active collaboration with donors, other implementers, and local counterparts.

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • MB.BS/MD/PHD or similar degree with 7 to 9 years relevant experience in project-level or state/national-level monitoring and evaluation system implementation for Global Health Initiatives,
    • Or MPH or MS/MA in relevant degree with 5 to 7 years relevant experience in project-level or state/national-level monitoring and evaluation system implementation for Global Health Initiatives,
    • B.Sc/BA in Statistics, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Monitoring and Evaluation or in relevant Degree with 7 to 9 years relevant experience in project-level or state/national-level monitoring and evaluation system implementation for Global Health Initiatives,
    • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

    Senior Technical Advisor - Prevention, Care & Treatment

    Job Description

    • Will provide leadership and technical support in the areas of PMTCT, clinical care/ART and reproductive health.
    • S/he will coordinate services needed to implement high quality care PMTCT, HIV care and treatment and reproductive health/family planning services.
    • Provide oversight and supervisory roles to the appropriate Technical Staff, develop guidelines, tools and recommendations related to the implementation, evaluation of clinical management of HIV/AIDS, PMTCT and RH/FP and represent AHNi to Donors and government officials on issues of clinical management of HIV/AIDS, PMTCT and RH/FP.

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • MBBS / MD / PHD or similar Degree with 7 to 9 years relevant experience with at least 7 years progressive experience working in the health or development field in Nigeria.
    • Possession of an MPH or Post Graduate Degree in a related field is required.
    • Proven experience in project development, planning and facilitating technical training.
    • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
    • Clinical management and training experience and ability to understand full range of issues around the clinical management of HIV/AIDS, including provision of ART.
    • Knowledge of Nigerian clinical setting, including government and non-government settings.
    • Proven ability in supervising staff.

    Senior Technical Advisor - Health Systems Strengthening / Capacity Development

    Job Description

    • Will provide technical leadership in the planning, implementing and monitoring of health systems strengthening and Laboratory activities on the project.
    • S/he will contribute to AHNI’s provision of technical assistance to AHNi partners and implementing agencies at all levels to develop/review, implement and monitor health systems and Laboratory strategies and activities. Develop and implement framework for capacity development for the different departments in the design and implementation of evidence-based health systems policies and practices related to their technical programs and units.
    • Collaborate with the relevant federal, state and LGA departments/agencies and other partners to develop innovative technical strategies, tools and systems to strengthen health systems at all levels. Directly oversee AHNi’s work on service integration, decentralization, quality improvement, health financing, human resource for health and governance.

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • MBBS / MD / PHD or similar degree with 7 to 9 years post-national youth service experience with at least 7 years progressive experience in health systems strengthening, health financing, human resource for health management or other related areas.
    • MPH or related Degree with at least 5 to 7 years post-national youth service experience with at least 5 years progressive experience in health systems strengthening, health financing, human resource for health management or other related areas.
    • Expertise in health systems analysis, health financing (including budgeting and health accounts), human resource for health (including workload analysis), and service delivery required.
    • Familiarity with Nigerian public-sector health system and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
