    Nutrition and Health Programme Manager

    Job Description

    • We are currently looking to fill the role of Nutrition and Health Programme Manager who will be responsible for the overall management including personnel, Budget, Logistics and work plans management of Health and Nutrition project implemented in Borno state (Monguno Kaga, and Konduga LGAs).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure projects are implemented in line with donor proposals and requirements and in accordance with Action against Hunger, country and international standards;
    • In collaboration with the Nutrition and Health HOD, support the development of strategies addressing the problems linked to poor health and malnutrition in the Northeast region;
    • In collaboration with Nutrition and Health HOD/DHOD ensure continued review of remote management strategy based on the evolving context, work closely with relevant Government agencies to ensure quality in implementation of remotely managed programs;
    • Support the Institutional Capacity Building Engagement DPM on identification of gap for health facilities using HSS lens and planning improvement plans based HSS components;
    • Monitoring the budget and targets achieved with reference to the project proposal, and making any necessary adjustments in consultation with the Finance Manager in the base and the Area Coordinator;
    • Contribute monthly budget forecast and budget review including monthly BFU review;
    • Sharing information on a regular basis with the Area Coordinator and the Program Managers in charge of Mental Health and Care Practices, Food Security and Livelihood and Water Sanitation and Hygiene in order to promote the development of an integrated approach;
    • Representing nutritional and health issues at the level of the programme and the geographical area of intervention in the state and LGA coordination meetings, meetings with the authorities and visits by funding bodies and partners;
    • Ensuring that the relationship established with partners respects the principles and values of  Action against Hunger partnership policy (currently being developed: trust, respect, common purpose, complementarity, transparency, mutual dependency and shared learning...);
    • Prepares and share for technical review monthly activity progress report (APR) both qualitative and quantitative using AAH standard APR templates validated by Nutrition and Health HoD/DHoD and MEAL team, this should also integrate all indicators to be reported to donors.

    Position Requirements

    • Master’s Degree in MPH / MBBS with strong background in Nutrition and Health, Health Planning & Management, Public Health, Nutrition, Development Studies or other related field with more than 5 years experience;
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related courses with more than 5 years’ experience in multisector Nutrition and Health Management can also apply;
    • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions;
    • Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment;
    • Three years relevant work experience in a similar position;
    • Excellent report writing skills and proficient in Microsoft Office software Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word);
    • Fluency in Hausa preferably.

    Starting Gross Basic Salary / Benefits

    • NGN718,840 per month (excluding other benefits)

    WASH Programme Manager

    Job Description

    • We are currently looking to fill the role of WASH  Programme Manager who will be responsible to Identify and implement quality, relevant and innovative WASH interventions in accordance with the strategy, Action Against Hunger and international standards and national policies and guidelines across Kaga and Konduga LGAs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Implementation of projects in accordance with the Action Against Hunger Charter, the Action Against Hunger strategic framework, the policies (WASH and other Action Against Hunger sectors), positioning papers, the national strategy  and other WASH standard and policies;
    • To participate, if necessary, in the development of the  WASH/NFI/Shelter part of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) in its area of intervention;
    • Promote cross-sectoral integration of the  WASH sector with other sectors in collaboration with the  Project  Coordinator;
    • Contribute to an intervention proposal (logical framework, letter of intent, narrative, budget, timeline and procurement plan ....) in collaboration with the relevant departments;
    • To be fully aware of its project(s), the issues, the logical framework and the indicators, by having a printed copy of the donor contractual documents, and to share the information with its teams;
    • Monitoring of its programs, through internal APR monitoring tools, its regular presence in the field, an updated chronogram, monthly budget monitoring analysis;
    • Supporting and monitoring the implementing partner in Nganzai and Magumeri LGA;
    • Coordinating its activities with other sectors and departments of Action Against Hunger for a rationalized use of resources and maximum integration;
    • Building the capacity of  WASH implementing partners and stakeholders.

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Public Health related field in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene;
    • Knowledge of humanitarian principles, sphere and HAP standards and other international humanitarian WASH guidelines
    • Minimum of  4 years’ experience as a professional in international NGO context, with a sound knowledge of WASH issues in crisis contexts;
    • Good anticipation, planning skill, especially in changing work contexts;
    • Problem solving ability; able to enforce procedures;
    • Experience communicating in different cultural work environments & with a wide diversity of culture;
    • Experience in attending and contributing in meetings with government and other agencies;
    • Good communicator: verbal and written. Diplomatic skills are a plus;
    • Ability to work with little or no supervision and attention to details;
    • Willingness and ability to travel to the field for program monitoring and supportive visits.

    Starting Gross Basic Salary / Benefits
