    Project Director

    Project Title:

    With financing from the World Bank, the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN) project aims to increase the utilization of quality, cost-effective nutrition services for pregnant and lactating women, adolescent girls, and children under five years of age in select areas of Nigeria’s territory.

    Job Purpose:

    The Project Director will be the primary point of contact with regard to day‐to‐day activity implementation and management matters relating to the project. S/He will develop, lead, monitor, and evaluate the assigned nutrition project(s). This involve effectively managing and reporting on the projects in line with the objectives, time frame, and budget with a focus on nutrition system strengthening, training, and coordination. Providing technical support, leadership, and strategic direction, other important aspects of the role include managing and training nutrition staff to meet quality standards in nutrition delivery, encouraging beneficiary participation, liaising with other stakeholders and managing and training staff, and anticipating, planning, and contributing to the development of new nutrition project proposals and reports.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide strong leadership of the assigned project, working to ensure short, mid, and long-term positive impacts and outcomes for the beneficiaries, local nutrition authorities (where applicable), and local nutrition staff.
    • Provide coaching and technical supervision to staff to develop ownership & full responsibility for the project.
    • Continuously monitor and supervise nutrition activities, evaluating progress through outputs and impacts using both quantitative and qualitative data, and involving the project team in analysis and taking appropriate action.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to AYGF, donor, and other time frames and formats.
    • Assess the training needs of project staff and ensure that appropriate training is conducted.
    • Develop and maintain appropriate, regular, transparent and supportive communication structures with the assigned project team, AYGF in-country and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. beneficiaries, community leaders, local and national government officials, agencies, and other NGOs), with the objective of ensuring good cooperation and partnerships.
    • Participate in project coordination meetings, AYGF internal training, and other working groups or meetings as required, representing AYGF and feeding back to the project staff and field managers on relevant issues.
    • Ensure that all the programming supplies are procured in time for the smooth running of the project activities.
    • Ensure the project is implemented in line with donor proposals and requirements and in accordance with AYGF, donor, country, and international standards i.e. Sphere and HAP standards.

    Education and Experience/qualifications:

    The ideal candidate should have;

    • Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nutrition, Public Health or Equivalent, Sociology, MBA);
    • At least 10 years of experience managing development projects, preferably in African countries with a strong focus on field implementation;
    • Experience managing projects with a focus on behavior change would be an asset; and
    • Strong communication skills (oral and written) in English.

    Skills / Competencies:

    • Ability and willingness to manage project implementation.
    • Knowledge and experience of nutrition / primary health care principles and management.
    • Team player with good interpersonal skills. Willingness to support others and to share the workload.

    Nutritionist

    Project Title:

    We are recruiting to fill the position below:
    Job Title: Nutritionist

    Job Purpose: Responsible for sensitization, advice, and guiding of team and beneficiaries on best nutrition plans/practices. Also responsible for beneficiaries' counseling in cases needed.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop work plans and activity budgets for the ANRiN Project
    • Ensure timely and quality implementation of activities under the project according to approved work plans and in line with the donor’s regulations
    • Plan logistics and resources needs for the activities to be carried out
    • Support the work of the Project Director
    • Work in collaboration with the ANRIN team so activities under the project are in coordination and synergy with the larger program
    • Support the MEAL team to collect and analyse the data related to the project
    • Conduct regular monitoring of activities, document findings, and provide recommendations to inform improvements in programme implementation
    • Produce reports as required by the program
    • Ensure regular communication and sharing of lessons learned and challenges with the programme team and partners
    • Participate in meetings, training, and other assessment/events as required

    Education and Experience/qualifications:

    The ideal candidate should have;

    • Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (public health/nutrition) with a minimum of 5 years of experience;
    • Demonstrated experience in working on nutrition-related issues with multi-sectoral teams in developing countries. Experience from African countries will be an asset;
    • Familiarity with analytical tools and ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical approaches for operational work; and
    • Strong communication skills (oral and written) in English. Knowledge of other Nigerian languages will be an asset.

    Procurement and Logistics Manager

    Project Title:

    With financing from the World Bank, the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN) project aims to increase the utilization of quality, cost-effective nutrition services for pregnant and lactating women, adolescent girls, and children under five years of age in select areas of Nigeria’s territory.

    Job Purpose: Responsible for monitoring stock levels and overseeing the movement of incoming and outgoing goods.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual project procurement plans and monitor implementation;
    • Ensure full compliance of procurement activities with AYGF Organisational policies and donor rules and regulations;
    • Assist the Finance Manager with establishing internal control systems;
    • Set up procurement processes, monitoring systems, and mechanisms to eliminate deficiencies in procurement;
    • Review and verify all purchase orders for goods and contract services;
    • Maintain and update all procurement files and transaction matrices;
    • Identify logistical bottlenecks and propose ways to fill in gaps;
    • Direct and supervise stockroom management practices to ensure no overstocking and losses;
    • Monitor and track project asset inventories;
    • Plan, organise, and lead the bid solicitation processes including drafting and issuing Requests for Quotes, developing bid evaluation criteria, and guiding clients on processes.

    Education and Experience/qualifications:

    The ideal candidate should have;

    • Master’s degree or equivalent in engineering, sciences, or social sciences with training in procurement, logistics, and supply chain management;
    • At least 7 years of experience in procurement planning and management in private sector/international organizations(preferably NGO/INGO);
    • Demonstrated experience in efficiently and efficaciously completing procurement of health-sector goods and commodities;
    • Knowledge and ability to work on ICT tools for inventory management, logistics, and supply chain management;
    • Knowledge of completing procurement in Nigeria;
    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English;
    • Strong credibility and integrity in this domain.

    Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Manager

    Project Title:

    With financing from the World Bank, the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN) project aims to increase the utilization of quality, cost-effective nutrition services for pregnant and lactating women, adolescent girls, and children under five years of age in select areas of Nigeria’s territory.

    Job Purpose: The position supports the development and implementation of the program's monitoring and evaluation strategy to ensure quality, timely, and accurate information in support of the implementation of the project activities. This position will support the review of proposals to ensure that core sector MEAL activities are adequately captured, as well as ensure project log frames are well designed in line with AYGF measurement standards.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support overall management of MEAL system
    • Support the MEAL Manager in overseeing and managing the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEAL) system and strategy.
    • Assist in the coordination and maintenance of the new online system for reporting and monitoring of programmes, including testing of the system and ongoing refinement as necessary.
    • Assist in the design of MEAL procedures, templates, and guidelines to support strong national-level reporting.
    • Support the monitoring of the overall implementation of the MEAL strategy and online system, and identify gaps or challenges both with regard to the technical components of the M&E system and with regard to the capacity of its users.
    • Assist in entering entry and storing of data to the monitoring database, help in maintaining this as an accessible source of information on programme activities, results, and (to the extent possible) impact, and ensure data safety and protection.
    • Support capacity strengthening and training of users of the MEAL system, Assist in the training and capacity-building activities relating to MEAL, through for example the creation of toolkits, and the setting up of webinars.
    • Provide support to regional level data capturing, analysis, and quality assurance processes.
    • Support the implementation of quality assurance mechanisms and monitoring checks at the regional level that captures and narrates programmatic results and impact.
    • Support monitoring, reporting, and evaluation
    • Share information about reporting requirements and timelines, and follow-up projects to ensure timely submission of reports.
    • Support the collection of documentation to validate reports, and carry out regular spot checks.
    • Produce high-quality bi-monthly progress reports, with support from HR.

    Education and Experience/qualifications:

    The ideal candidate should have;

    • Master’s Degree in Statistics or Economics or Demography or Anthropology or Development Planning or Social Work or Epidemiology or related subjects of similar scope;
    • At least 6 years of progressive experience in monitoring and evaluation in public health/nutrition or any large social sector programs;
    • In-depth knowledge of M & E techniques and methodologies including knowledge of conducting operations research, household surveys, and qualitative assessments; data analysis, interpretation, and reporting; and
    • Proficient with analytical tools and software such as Stata, SPSS, MS Excel, etc. Knowledge of other Nigerian languages will be an asset.

    Skills / Competencies:

    • Understanding of local and international development issues.
    • Experience from working within an NGO.
    • Good understanding of programme design, theory of change functions, and logical frameworks, including links between objectives, indicators, targets, and activities.
    • Extensive experience in supporting M&E strategies and systems, and writing reports.
    • Experience in data gathering and analysis.
    • Excellent writing skills.
    • Experience with archiving systems and knowledge management.

    Finance & Admin Manager

    Project Title:

    With financing from the World Bank, the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN) project aims to increase utilization of quality, cost-effective nutrition services for pregnant and lactating women, adolescent girls and children under five years of age in select areas of Nigeria’s territory.

    Job Purpose

    The Finance & Administration (F&A) Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial project management, as well as General Office Services.

    The F&A Manager will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity and preparing all financial reports efficiently in accordance with relevant financial reporting standards.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities
    The Finance and Administration Manager has the following responsibilities:

    • Manage the accounting, finance, and administration components of programs, including petty cash funds and field office finance, accounting, and administrative activities;
    • Establish program financial management systems, procedures, and controls to ensure consistency with donor requirements;
    • Coordinate monthly requests for funds to ensure the project has all necessary funds for operations, and coordinate and oversee program tendering and procurement activities;
    • Advise project staff on financial health through the provision of regular and timely financial expenditure reports;
    • Review and approve all vouchers prepared (disbursement, receipt, and general journal vouchers) for expenditures and ensure that expenses are reasonable, allowable, and allocable to the project;
    • Maintain financial controls and procedures for the management of funds;
    • Supervise project staff, consultants, and partners working in finance and administration for the project;
    • Compute tax for (PAYE, VAT, WHT, and NSITF) monthly remittance and filings.
    • Produce budget projections, analysis, and reports for review and action by the Project Manager and ED;
    • Manage financial files and support annual audits.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience/Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate should have;

    • Qualified Chartered Accountant (Accounting professional qualification is essential) with minimum of 10 years of experience;
    • At least 7 years of experience in a bi-lateral or multi-lateral agency financed project in Nigeria (or an African country);
    • Knowledge and expertise in the field of project preparation, commercial negotiations, financial management, internal controls/systems development, accounting, auditing, and reporting; and
    • Ability to solve problems efficaciously by exercising good judgment will be an asset.

    Must live in Katsina State.

    Skills / Competencies:

    • Strong management, communication, and negotiation skills, and the ability to collect data from multiple partners.
    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft suite such as excel, word and powerpoint.
    • Knowledge of local financial and accounting systems preferred.
    • Knowledge of donor regulations, policies, and procedures and familiarity with grants management.
