    Factory Accountant (Beverage/FMCG)

    A multinational FMCG beverage company is looking to hire a Factory Accountant for its business operations in Sagamu, Ogun State.

    Location: Sagamu, Ogun state

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Reconcile all accounts within required timeframe and prepare monthly bank reports.
    • Analyze all financial records and assist consolidate all financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance to all local, state and Federal regulations and oversee payroll and account payable and receivable functions.
    • Quarterly assessment and review of stocks and provisions to determine their adequacy in line with IFRS
    • Implement and monitor financial controls in respect of expenses, materials procurement and utilization as it affects the factory
    • Preparation of management accounts and finance reports within the agreed timeframe
    • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports for use by senior management
    • Product costing for the factory
    • Responsible for reporting factory business performance, in comparison with budget (annual estimates), while reporting and investigating variances
    • Evaluate and maintain accuracy of general ledger.
    • Prepare all required correspondence and maintain all accounting files on computer and ensure accuracy of same.
    • Administer and reconcile all system account on monthly basis and manage all cash disbursement issues.
    • Monitor all petty cash for factory and manage all everyday disbursements.
    • Identify all appropriate systems and procedures to maintain efficiency of all financial information.
    • Handle inventory accounting, reporting and reconciliations

    QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • Professional certification in accounting/finance is an added advantage e.g. ICAN
    • 6+ years’ experience in similar position (preferably from a beverage FMCG company)
    • Prior experience in handling a full spectrum of factory accounting functions which include costing accounting, budgeting & forecasting, as well as reporting.
    • Well versed in MS Excel or similar accounting software is a plus.

    Chief Finance Officer

    Job Summary

    • Chief Financial Officer who will direct and oversee the financial activities of the company, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts for predicting future growth.

    Responsibilities

    Planning

    • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
    • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans.
    • Develop financial and tax strategies.
    • Manage the capital request and budgeting processes.
    • Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic direction.

    Operations

    • Participate in key decisions to support the executive management team.
    • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team.
    • Manage the accounting, investor relations, tax, and treasury units.
    • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies.
    • Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced.
    • Oversee the company's transaction processing systems.
    • Design financial processes, policies and procedures; financial strategies and analysis
    • Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions
    • Financial Information and Treasury
    • Oversee the issuance of financial information.
    • Maintain efficient Treasury Management.
    • Responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all accounting and finance related matters.
    • Report financial results to the Board of Directors.

    Risk Management

    • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
    • Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry.
    • Construct and monitor reliable financial control systems.
    • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
    • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies. Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.

    Funding

    • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts. Arrange for debt financing and equity financing. Invest funds.

    Third Parties

    • Participate in conference calls with the investment community.
    • Maintain banking relationships.
    • Represent the company with investment bankers, rating agencies and investors.

    Key KPl/Ratios:

    • Maintain cost to income ratio of 35%
    • Maintain maximum of 2% uninvested fund at any time.
    • Achieve maximum of 105% of budgeted expense. Minimum ROA of 20% Minimum ROE of Minimum of A rating.

    Skills

    • Possess a strong understanding of financial investment strategies and risk management techniques.
    • In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Global, Domestic Economy, and the Nigerian Capital Market.
    • Sound knowledge of investment and risk management fundamentals.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, adept and concise.
    • Ability to strategize and solve problems.
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
    • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Requirements          

    • Minimum of bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration or related field
    • Minimum of 8 years' experience in financial management and 4 years' experience in a similar role.
    • Accounting, or Finance from a reputable university required. Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, ACA. CIT N, Etc.) is an added advantage
    • A high degree of Excel proficiency (the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets).
    • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
