    Business Development Manager

    Our client, an Insurance Brokerage Firm, who provides a range of innovative insurance solutions with a team of insurance experts and resources that work continually to assess, mitigate, manage, transfer and where possible, eliminate risk- is seeking to hire the services of a Business Development Manager to perform the following responsibilities:

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, clients, products, and services.
    • Generate leads and cold call prospective clients.
    • Meet with customers/clients face to f ace or over the phone.
    • Understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet them.
    • Research and analyze sales options and identify business opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain productive business relationships with all prospects, partners and clients.
    • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business.
    • Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to design and implement operational changes.
    • Have a good understanding of the businesses' products and be able to advise clients accordingly.
    • To provide daily, weekly, and monthly report from all the sales point to the Managing Director.
    • Ensure monthly financial and non-financial targets are met by the sales team.
    • Create a salesmanship mentality across the organization and encourage staff to be aware of sales opportunities.
    • Train members of your team, organising external training where appropriate.
    • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing team.

    Qualification

    • A good HND/Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
    • Relevant professional qualification/certification.
    • A Master’s Degree or its equivalent in a related field will be an added advantage.
    • At least 10 years cognate experience, 4 of which must be in a management position.

    Head of Accounts/Finance

    Our client, an insurance brokerage company, which provides a range of innovative insurance solutions with a team of insurance experts and resources that work continually to assess, mitigate, manage, transfer and where possible, eliminate risk-is seeking to hire the services of a Head of Accounts/Finance to perform the following responsibilities:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and manage annual budgets that are adequate for the organization’s needs including preparation of periodic budget forecasts.
    • Prepare and maintain cash flow analyses as needed.
    • Analyze monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows) and effectively convey analysis to Management.
    • Assist in preparing year-end books for audit.
    • Ensure operational compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations for any necessary Entities/Bodies.
    • Build, support and/or manage relationships with external parties such as banks, tax authorities, service providers, vendors, regulators and other stakeholders and legal counsels.
    • Process vendor payments and check requests
    • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts as assigned.
    • Respond to inquiries from staff and other accredited stakeholders regarding budgets, payment and disbursement.
    • Assist in reconciling all balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly/quarterly
    • basis as indicated by the monthly closing schedule.
    • Process payroll and remit attendant taxes, pension and other statutory obligations for the organization.
    • Recommend updates to and implement all approved business policies and accounting
    • practices; create and improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
    • Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the Managing Director.

    Qualification:

    • University degree in Finance and/or Accounting
    • A Master’s Degree or its equivalent in a related field
    • ACA or ACCA certification is a major requirement.
    • Must have at least 10 years cognate experience, 5 of which must be in a management
    • position in an insurance/brokerage company.
    • Additional professional qualifications and certificates will be an added advantage.
    • Experience in insurance industry is an added advantage.

    Managing Director/CEO

    Key Responsibilities

    • To oversee the entirety of the brokerage business of the company, towards growth, expansion, stability, and profitability.
    • To develop business and marketing plan based on the company’s long-term objectives set by the Board.
    • To direct strategy towards the profitable growth and operations of the company.
    • To lead the general business development direction of the company.
    • To constantly review the economic and business landscape of the company.
    • To ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
    • To ensure that the company’s financial performance is closely monitored.
    • To take remedial action where necessary and inform the Board of significant changes.
    • To monitor the company’s performance and maintain the operational performance of the company.
    • To develop annual operating plan and financial budget that support the company’s long term strategy.
    • To oversee the implementation of the company’s policies.
    • To be responsible for all company operations and accountable to the Board.

    Qualification

    • University degree in any business-related course
    • A Master’s Degree or its equivalent in a related field
    • Certified Fellow/Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Insurance Brokers
    • At least 15 years experience in the financial services industry; banking, insurance, sales, marketing or business development. 7 years of which must be in an executive management position.
    • Certified member of NAICOM and NCRIB
    • Additional professional qualifications and certificates will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge in the use of insurance brokerage software
