    HSE Officer

    Job Description:

    • Prepares and updates a checklist of all applicable HSE legislation for vessel and office.
    • Ensures Company compliance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environment Legislation for Vessels and Office in line with prepared and updated legislation checklist.
    • Prepares a comprehensive HSE vessel inspection checklist.
    • Provides and implements a system for vessel inspection to ensure HSE compliance.
    • Carries-out risk assessment in line with HIOSL risk assessment procedure to reduce or eliminate risk associated with Company’s Operations.
    • Conducts monthly site/vessel HSE inspections to ensure compliance with company HSE policies and procedures and submits findings to management in a timely manner.
    • Ensures HSE reports are sent to Client as requested in a timely manner.
    • Ensures all reported incidents and accidents are investigated in a timely manner.
    • Ensures investigation outcomes of accidents and incidents are reported to management in a timely manner.
    • Conducts bi-annual vessel HSE Audit and submits findings to management in a timely manner.
    • Recommends sanctions to management for HSE non-compliance.

    Job Requirements:

    • B.Sc. degree in Occupational, Safety and Health, Engineering, Construction or in a related field.
    • Proven 3-5 years work experience in related role.
    • Relevant HSE Qualification -NEBOSH, IOSH required.
    • Ability to interact with the OVID software.
    • Previous experience in the Marine sector will be an added advantage.

    Additional Information:

    • Ensure vessels comply to drill schedule and keep records accordingly.
    • Carryout office emergency equipment test monthly.
    • Conducts in-house HSE briefing per crew change, HSE drills for office employee and reports submitted to management.
    • Maintains Company Man-hour Statistics.
