    Financial Operations Manager

    Key tasks and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

    a)     Proactively Manage Liquidity.  A critical part of this role involves managing Lidya’s cash. This includes ensuring adequate liquidity so that there’s never a shortage of cash, determining how much cash is available for use and forecasting both short- and long-term cash levels.

    Provide reports and reconciliations related to cash flows and transactions

    Oversee Lidya’s cash position and cash flow forecast

    Maintain appropriate capital levels for operating needs, including foreign exchange exposure

    b)    Manage Banking Relationships.  Lidya’s bank partners are integral to its business model and this role will be the day-to-day contact for our banking relationships.

    • Ensure frictionless and timely cash borrowings and deposits and cash disbursements processes
    • Oversee bank reporting and deposit and disbursement transaction verifications
    • Managing online banking access and authorizations
    • Analyze bank fees and charges

    c)     Perform Analyses and Make Recommendations.  This role will be an essential contributor to effective data-driven management decision-making and supporter of Lidya’s continuing efforts to improve efficiency. The Financial Operations Manager will partner with stakeholders and synthesize and distill insights to ensure they understand the benefits and costs of a given financial decision and are aware of alternatives they might be better off choosing.

    • Maintain, enhance, streamline and automate treasury-related processes and ensure they are scalable
    • Develop, analyze and report on treasury KPIs, including flow of funds, rates of return, capital efficiency and liquidity
    • Support financial and analytical modeling, including revenue, cost of revenue, expense, profitability and financial position projections
    • Develop, and ensure conformity with, compliance and treasury controls, including reconciliations of cash flows and segregation of duties

    Recovery Manager

    Job Description

    • The Recovery Manager is responsible for the overall formulation, review, and implementation of loan recovery and repayment policies and procedures, as well as actively building client relationships for the Debt Recovery team to foster timely repayment of all loans and improve Portfolio at Risk (PAR).
    • The position liaises directly with clients, external debt collection partners and local courts to recover outstanding payments.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintains a database of all matters related to late payments by clients including any matters in mediation, litigation, or pre-settlement negotiations.
    • Negotiate and maintain contractual relationships with vendors related to business recovery and resumption.
    • Reviewing documentation (all aspects of contract) to assess liability, identify contract issues and judge recoverability.
    • Using knowledge and initiative to reach amicable solutions to settling debts on behalf of clients, considering circumstances of the case while ensure significant monthly progress on funds recovery.
    • Establish repayment schedules, monitoring repayment of debts, and adherence by debtors to installment schedules.
    • Researching debtor companies, assisting in researching laws and procedures to provide written advice to clients and prepare appropriate reports clearly identifying issues and options for dealing with them.
    • Build and manage internal team of 3+ debt recovery professionals to achieve late payment goals and key performance indicators of the Company.

    Desired Qualifications and Skillset

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Information Technology or preferably Law (will be an added advantage). (MBA, LLB, CFA is a plus).
    • 7 years+ of experience working with a Commercial Bank, Law Firm or Management Consulting Firm, with a particular emphasis on experience in the financial sector and a network of debt collection partners a plus.
    • Demonstrated history of recovery success. Ability to show you have been able to deliver above average loan recovery KPIs (PAR 0, PAR 30, PAR 90) in the credit industry, with experience at credit providers with a loan portfolio over NGN 1 billion at any point time, a plus.
    • In depth knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
    • Excellent Communication skills – You must be able to succinctly summarize an argument and be capable of presenting the impact of maintaining good credit scoring and complex legal concepts to clients.
    • Detailed Organization skills – Missing a deadline can negatively impact a client’s credit profile, result in serious court penalties, and/or damage the reputation of Lidya so time management and organization skills are hugely important.
    • An eye for detail – being able to identify small details in a late payment can mean the difference between losing and recovering a debt. You also need this skill to determine what is relevant and what is not to ensure the right actions are prioritized to achieve target KPIs.
    • Determination and Negotiation skills – Loan recovery is difficult; you need to have the determination to recover late payments. You need to have strong persuasion skulls and the strength to maintain composure and calm when cases become chaotic and complicated.

    • Acquiring and authentication of data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases.
    • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
    • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
    • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
    • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs and locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

    Desired Qualifications and Skillset

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, Investments, or a related business discipline (MBA, CPA, or CFA is a plus).
    • 3 to 5 years+ of experience working with an Investment Bank, Management Consulting Firm or in an advanced degree course with heavy math and/or statistics requirements.
    • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
    • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
    • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc).
    • Attention to Detail: The conclusions drawn from your data analysis will drive critical departmental initiatives. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount.
    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Math Skills: Deep understanding of basic statistical methods.

    Collections Manager

    Job Description

    • The Collections Manager is responsible for providing support to the organization with particular emphasis on the collection of revenue and management of finance.
    • The position liaises directly with clients, external debt collection partners, negotiate on outstanding payments and where necessary initiates recovery action.

    Finance Associate

    Job Description

    • To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the organization by providing leadership in all financial matters, including loan operations (disbursement and collection), budget development & implementation, planning & reporting, managing financial accounts, payroll, and treasury management.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Working with the finance team lead to develop and implement monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets.
    • Production of monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of financial performance against budget & cash flow, financial and operational goals.
    • Work with bookkeeping partners to prepare draft audit accounts and be a liaison with the externally appointed auditor.
