    Director General

    A vacancy has arisen in a reputable  non-profit membership organization

    The Director-General will be responsible for planning, implementation, and supervision of the organization's vision, goals, strategies, and work plan in support of overall goals and ensure efficiency, relevance, and impact of all operations.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in any field.
    • Master's degree in business, Economics or any related field is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior management with a successful track record of building profitable relationships.
    • Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans
    • Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence member companies
    • Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
    • Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
    • Excellent interpersonal, and presentation skills
    • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities

    Job Description

    In fulfilling his or her responsibilities, the successful Candidate will:

    • Establish current and long-range objectives, plans, policies, goals, and development strategies for the organization subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
    • Lead improvements in the policies and programs of the organization and undertake special projects to enhance its financial viability, efficiency, and effectiveness.
    • Act as chief advisor and strategist to the  Board of Directors, providing needed support with respect to the identification of Organizational, regulatory, and operational risks, and the resolution of attendant issues.
    • Communicate and maintain trusted relationships between the organization and member organizations
    • Act as the public relations representative of the organization in ways that strengthen its profile.
    • Continuously inform the board of directors of significant developments, emerging opportunities, challenges, and provide timely recommendations as appropriate
    • Ensures the effective integration of the organization’s  strategic plan with its day-to-day operations.
    • Lead the budget and management services functions, which includes the formulation and implementation of the organization’s overall budget, with due consideration to maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization’s  operations.
    • Oversee the company’s financial performance and report regularly to the Board; ensure adherence to compliance standards throughout the organisation
    • Oversee all chamber recruitment to ensure for best-in-class personnel who manage all chamber activities
    • Lead and support the initiatives to improve staff well-being and promote a healthy, sustainable way of working and living.
    • Create and lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure the overall quality of their work.
    • Manage the performance of teams and individuals providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance.
    • Provide coaching and mentoring to teams and individuals and ensure their ongoing learning and development.
