    Custom Clearance Executive

    An award-winning business based in Lagos is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join their rapidly growing team.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Handling all kinds of customs clearance processes for the shipments by AIR/SEA/LAND.
    • Responsible for securing new customers for clearance, implement all customs clearance activities such as following up on incoming shipments, documents, transactions and day to day related activities in accordance with the objectives, policies, and procedures.
    • Prepare customs documentation and ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import and export of goods.
    • Follow-up with the Customs Brokers for clearance of imported items within the shortest possible time and/or the agreed time frame.
    • Present as a representative of Customer to support clearance process of import/export at port(s).
    • Coordinate transportation and storage of imported goods.
    • To ensure the clearing of good from the Customs within the shortest possible time.
    • Preparation of freight quotations.
    • Negotiating with clients and suppliers
    • Keep abreast of import and export laws and regulations and keep up-to-date with changes as they occur, to be able to advise immediately to Customers on import and export restrictions, tariff systems, insurance requirements and all other customs related matters.

    Qualifications

    • Must have at least 3 years of experience in freight forwarding / Logistics with minimum BA/BSs/ HND qualification
    • Should have excellent knowledge in Nigeria customs formalities of Air, Sea and Land / documents related to export and import shipments.
    • Excellent knowledge of export and import of goods i.e. import license, LC, Right use of HC Code etc.customs evaluation, customs tariff and country of origin standard, ECOWAS trade regulations
    • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel
    • Ability to work both on your own and as part of a small team;
    • Able to communicate with English in a clear and simple manner. Able to communicate with French will be plus.
