Role: Creative Writing Tutor (Part-Time)

Level: Key Stages 1–4

We are recruiting for the role of Creative Writing Tutor for primary/secondary aged children.

Candidate requirements

The desired candidate:

• is fluent with written and spoken English
• enjoys reading
• has written professionally/for leisure
• has studied English/Literature or a related course at undergraduate level OR has taught English in a primary/secondary school
• has experience working with children/teenagers
• is comfortable working with children/teenagers
• is able to work flexibly around the school calendar
• is comfortable with technology and online learning platforms

Main responsibilities

• Teaching small groups of children/teenagers
• Planning and preparing adequately for learning sessions
• Keeping learner records (performance, attendance, and reading records) and providing periodic feedback
• Monitoring and facilitating learner progress 

Pay

Pay is dependent on set criteria and experience.

Work hours

• Minimum of five hours weekly 
• Evenings and weekends included
