    Consultant for Group Dynamics And Leadership Skill Training (GDLST) and Micro Enterprise Fundamentals (MEF)

    Scope of Work
    This activity aligns with ALMRI’s interest of assisting smallholder farmers to reduce their production costs and improve their yields (both the quantity and quality of products at harvest). The training of trainers is to develop Village agents, Extension workers and Lead farmers knowledge, skills and understanding of how to deliver the GDLST and MEF curricula with focus on Smallholder farmers and other market actors within the agricultural market system as well as exposing trainers to both delivery techniques (experiential/applied learning approaches) and curriculum content, to develop their ability to deliver the curriculum and other similar curricula effectively for continuous facilitation and partnership.

    The overall scope of work for this assignment is to equip stakeholders who will outlive the project with the right technical and business skills required to sustain the project activities and create incremental impact after the end of project:

    • 80 Pieces of GDLST printed training manuals.
    • 50 Packs of training materials for participants
    • 20 GDLST training Kits

    Selection Criteria And Tor For Gdlst Trainer
    The deliverables will include:

    • GDLST Trainings.
    • Production of Training materials for trainees.
    • Production of training kits 20
    • Mentoring.
    • Certification.
    • Final report.
    • Produce a training needs assessment (Pre-test)
    • Post training test result

    It is expected that a total of 10 days will be required for the training on business skills. This is broken down into: Three five days for preparation/development of training modules and materials, five days to deliver the training and five days for mentoring, certification and report writing. This is excluding the travel days. (But must not be more than 3 days). The training is scheduled for week of 8th November, 2020

    Costs:

    • The cost of delivering this assignment will be as negotiated with MC in line with available budget. The total cost of this activity should cover both travels and logistics (transportation and accommodation).

    Qualifications

    • Qualified consultants should provide evidence of the last two trainings facilitated within the development space
    • At least five years proven experience in development and capacity building training. Must be a certified GDLST trainer with good knowledge of the agricultural business cycles. Must possess relevant business and financial analysis understanding.

    Consultant to Conduct Training for Community Resilience Groups Members

    Locations: Biu, Kwaya Kusar and Hawul LGA of Borno

    Programme Summary

    • The MAIDA programme will directly support the recovery of at least 70,000 women, men, girls and boys who are returnees, IDPs and members of host communities affected by the Boko Haram insurgency in southern and central Borno State.
    • The objective of MAIDA is to increase the social cohesion and resilience to economic, social and climate related shocks in Borno State in an environmentally-conscious way. Four interrelated and mutually reinforcing intermediate outcomes will contribute to achieving this objective. First, MAIDA will restore and improve rural livelihoods in an ecologically sustainable manner by enabling households to take advantage of existing and new agricultural market opportunities.
    • In parallel, adolescents and youth will be empowered as economic actors in their communities through access to employment, diversified livelihood opportunities, vocational training and business development initiatives. These outcomes will be reinforced by improved access to social protection and community-based services for women, youth, adolescent breadwinners and other at-risk groups.
    • Finally, overall social cohesion will be strengthened within and between conflict-affected communities and environmental resource management will be improved in areas of displacement and return. Sectors of intervention will include market-led and climate-smart livelihood and employment opportunities, vocational training for youth, social and economic protection and community reintegration and peacebuilding.
    • Community Resilience Groups (CRGs) were formed in each community where the programme is implemented with the overall aim of bringing together ethnically diverse community representatives that will assist in community engagement, jointly developing Community Action Plans in addition to conducting conflict management activities in their communities.

    Scope of the Assignment:

    • The scope of this assignment is to contract the services of specialized national consulting firms or local Civil Society Organisations to train members CRGs on conflict management in other to build their capacity to discharge their responsibility across their communities.
    • Overall four (4) rounds of trainings are to be conducted one each in Biu, Kwaya Kusar LGA, and two in Hawul LGA (Kida-Sakwa-Marama, Shaffa-Kwajaffa-azare-Bilingwi).

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Conflict Management/Resolution Training
    • Facilitate trainings on:
      • Conflict context analysis (understanding the conflict situation, dividers and connectors)
      • Negotiation and mediation (Basic Negotiation and mediation skills)
      • Dispute resolution formulation (Basic knowledge of drafting dispute resolution agreement)
      • Do No Harm (Framework and principle)

    Deliverables:

    • Comprehensive training module and agenda submitted at the beginning of the programme.
    • Training report
    • Pre and post-test for the training
    • Final report

    Team Composition

    • The team undertaking the work should consist of at least a Team Leader, a Trainer and supporting team members.
