Job Details

The job description of the successful candidate among other things include:

• Work with the Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of the farm.
• Preparation of work plan and crop calendar for planting, field management, and harvesting of tomatoes, cucumber, and soybeans.
• Planting, application of manure, staking, trellising, weed management, harvesting, and post-harvest handling of tomatoes, cucumber, and soybeans.
• Technical backstopping, capacity development, and training of daily-rated staff attached to the farm.
• Preparation of timesheet for casual/daily rated staff.
• Motorcycle maintenance, irrigation management, and fertigation.
• Any other responsibility assigned to him by the Farm Manager or the Management staff.

Qualification

OND or HND in Plant Science or related discipline with 1 to 2 years relevant experience in a similar role.

• Have the ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Be critical thinking and have the ability to take initiative as occasion demands.
• Have a good command of English both in speaking and writing.
• Honest, diligent, dedicated, and unassuming
• Have previous farming experience.
