This Centre is based in the reconstructed and enlarged building that was formerly occupied by the British Council Library which vacated Ibadan in November 2001.
NSIAC’s vision is of an enlightened Nigerian populace adequately exposed to the best that has been thought and written in the world’s civilizations.
NSIAC’s mission is to facilitate the access of growing numbers of the Nigerian population to the best that has been thought and written in world’s civilizations through the provision of books, through exhibitions and through the sponsorship of concerts. To this end, NSIAC will ensure a well-stocked library, monitor cultural developments in the country and maintain continuous contact with the various international organizations in Nigeria so as to draw on the products of as many cultures as possible.
