On com... read moreing to power, particularly the second tenure, the present administration headed by His Excellency, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Adamu Aliero (Garkuwan Gwandu) immediately decided to put in place the machinery for the establishment of a State university.
According to the Executive Governor, "one of the most consistent and recurrent decimals in the understanding and activities of the Government has remained the desire to put in place a sound and effective educational system that would serve as an engine room for the ultimate actualization of the dreams of those who fought for the creation of our dear Kebbi State". To further the actualization of this dream of educational development in the State, the Kebbi State Executive Council at its 29th meeting of 28th September, 2005 resolved to establish a University of Science and Technology in the State.
Similarly, the State House of Assembly also passed a bill for the establishment of the University. The establishment of a University in the State is also necessitated by the need to provide additional access to University education for the growing number of the State indigenes who are unable to secure places in existing Nigerian Universities.
