Our philosophy is based on the principle that addiction is a primary illness and that... read more its symptoms involve the use of many compulsive behaviors, obsessive thoughts, and family dysfunction that not only affect the individual, but the society at large.
The deleterious effects of this disease encompass the physical, mental-emotional, and spiritual well being of the individual. Hence, we believe that treatment must target each of these areas concurrently. In addition, the nature of the disease of addiction includes a high propensity for relapse. For this reason, just as the disease is progressive, so is the recovery process, which does not happen in a single event. Instead, recovery happens in stages and must include the structuring of a life-long plan. Thus, an aftercare plan will be designed with the individual in order to help incorporate the resources needed to maintain a healthy life after treatment.
