College of Advanced Health Science and Technology Onicha Ohaozara in Ebonyi State South is a private-driven Federal Government-Assisted Institution through YouWiN -I program of the Federal Ministry of Finance; operating under private-public partnership scheme of Federal Ministry of Education. CAHST is designed to widen access to higher education through the provision of relevant industry-specific employable skills. The aim of the institution is to create the next generation of graduates with skills relevant to our economy and to create job opportunities for Nigerian youths.
In April 2012, CAHST received a Presidential and National award for Innovation in Nigeria, the ceremony of which was held in the Banquet Hall of Aso Rock Villa, Abuja. Following this development, CAHST was assisted 100% by grants from Federal Government of Nigeria through Ministry of Finance and the Youth Empowerment with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWiN) program of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration in 2012.
We are working to widen our partnership with Governmental Agencies, Professional bodies inclding the West African Health Examinational Board, Environmental Health Council of Nigeria, Chartered Chemist Council of Nigeria, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Health Record Registration Board, and professional body in Social Works, and private industries, organizations, individuals and professional bodies and coroporate bodies to provide specialized trainings in the shortage areas of Health and Social Care
The centralized location of CAHST and its proximity to other reputable institutions such as Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, Ebonyi State University, College of Education, Ikwo, The Mater Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing and Midwifery, Afikpo, and Federal University Ndufu Alike, Ikwo serves the metropolitan purpose of attracting academic intelligence and research-oriented minds.
CAHST will continue to be imaginative in recognizing trends and new needs in the academic field and will develop appropriate products and platforms for its target markets.
