1.    Project Background
1.1.    Rationale and Goal for the Project 
The purpose of the training is to train the technical personnel (Extension Agents, other relevant state government partners and RESILAC project staff) involved in the project implementation in order to acquire more skills on areas related to resilience to climate change including both adaptation and mitigation approaches; 
It is therefore expected that these technical personnel will in turn cascade  the training to lead farmers in the intervention communities in order to facilitate ownership and continuity of the project. This will in turn produce ripples effect to build the capacity of community members through the project lead farmers, on climatere silient/intelligence agricultural activities in the environment (soil, water, soil floral and fauna and the entire ecosystem) without distorting the natural balance needed to sustainably produce food while also generating income for household resilience building
1.2    Geographical scope covered by the analysis
The geographical location for the training will be Maiduguri, Borno State. Nigeria. 

2.    PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

2.1.    Objectives of the Evaluation

• To conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) for RESILAC staff, government partners and Extension Agents in Jere, Monguno and Kukawa (remote)
• Use the socio-cultural and agro-ecological context and the endogenous practices of the communities in order to better introduce innovations related to these practices during the training for better dissemination of innovative  practices.
• To use the training as a platform to create sustainability for locally adaptable, user-friendly climateresilient agricultural activities in the communities of intervention.
• To use the training as an avenue to further strengthen the relationship between the communities and the government in terms of collective and collaborative approach, guided by state policies to address desertification and other associated environmental challenges within the intervention areas. 

3.    Profile of the Evaluator

The evaluation will be carried out by an international evaluation consultant with the following profile:

• Masters degree in agronomy, sustainable agriculture, environmental science and any related field
• Knowledgeable about agro-ecology and sustainable agriculture
• Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in trainings 
• At least 5 years of experience in agricultural training 
• Good training facilitation skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills in English
• A good knowledge of the socio-cultural context and agricultural practices in the intervention area.
• Previous experience conducting trainings on Climate Resilient/Intelligent agriculture
