QUALIFICATION:
A first degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and related disciplines (Computer Engineering, Computer with Economics/ Mathematics, Management Information Systems, and Electrical/Electronics Engineering) is required
A post graduate degree in any related field is an added advantage
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP: Membership of any of the following professional bodies is an added advantage: NCS, CPN, NIM, PMI or ISACA
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Possession of any of the following certifications is an added advantage: ITIL Manager, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Unified Communications Certificate (UCC), CCDA/CCDP
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in IT, of which at least 3 years should be at managerial level.
Experience in network and communications management is required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Network Monitoring
Ensures operational service on the LAN and WAN network and the Extranet Gateway Infrastructure
Monitors network usage
Monitors systems performance and ensures adequate time and throughput to users
Maintains network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, Network Storage systems etc.
Manage the day-to-day capacity and availability requirements of network services
Answer trouble tickets for desktop support and employees regarding network performance issues.
Prepares reports that show analysis of network performance
Network Control
Sets up user accounts, permissions and passwords
Network Infrastructure support and maintenance
Monitors all hardware components of a Bank‘s network including routers, switches, and servers
Maintains the network‘s authorization infrastructure, as well as network backup systems
Works with various equipment vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, faults and problems
Participates in various production-system upgrades during scheduled maintenance windows
Works alongside other teams (IT Architecture, Test, Service Management) as may be required Provides training and second level technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence
