QUALIFICATION: A first degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, and related disciplines (Computer Engineering, Computer with Economics /Mathematics, Management Information Systems, and Electrical/Electronics Engineering) is required.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP: Membership of any of the following professional bodies is an added advantage: NCS, CPN, NIM, PMI or ISACA
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Possession of any of the following certifications is required: ITIL Manager, COBIT - Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Minimum of 6 years’ experience in IT, of which at least 3 years should be at a managerial level. Experience in IT strategy development is required
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy development & implementation
Develops strategies to align IT with the business.
Translates strategic objectives into outcome measures represented by metrics and targets related to enterprise benefits.
Fosters innovation within IT to reduce cost and maximize productivity.
Maximizes the linkage between strategic planning and business relationship management.
Develops baseline of current business and IT environment, capabilities, and services against which future requirements can be compared.
Identifies gaps between current business and IT Capabilities and services with reference standards, good practices, and comparative benchmarks.
Drives technology transition efforts across the organization, with major impact in terms of resource allocation and investments.
Aligns and agrees with Enterprise Architecture on proposed enterprise architecture change.
Monitors ITD’s operational activities for alignment to the wider business objectives
Innovation
Fosters digital innovation to provide additional business value.
Analysis enterprise interest and potential for adopting new technology and focuses awareness on the best suited opportunities for innovation.
Evaluates identified technologies for enterprise fit and potential value and conducts proof of concept initiatives.
Develops strategies to align IT with the business.
Translates strategic objectives into outcome measures represented by metrics and targets related to enterprise benefits.
Fosters innovation within IT to reduce cost and maximize productivity.
IT Forecasting
Owns and maintains the Annual Operating Plan and Demand/Supply Forecast
Translates demand requirements into supply requirements - both manpower and capacity
Helps to identify demand conflicts, recommending escalation where appropriate for resolution, and for balancing the requests for new work with the current workload.
Manages the Supply Plan which involves a comparison of forecast versus actual manpower utilization and the identification of actions to resolve manpower constraints.
Leadership and management
Participates in the preparation of the office budget.
Supervises and coordinates the review of necessary documents within the office.
Coordinates, plans, and provides direction on processes and administrative function.
PEROSONALITY: energetic, driven, adaptable, able to work with no supervision, team spirit, proven leadership and problem-solving skills, willingness to relocate.
