    Reservation and Ticketing Officer

    Core Functions

    • Taking & processing reservations and ticketing needs.
    • Sorting out any issues that may arise with bookings or reservations.
    • Study & explain regulations, policies, or procedures.
    • Sell tickets and reservations to clients.

    Functions

    • Use Global Distribution Systems in making or amending reservations and bookings.
    • Providing support to customers who may need to amend or cancel a reservation.
    • Assisting and advising customers who may be choosing from a variety of travel options.
    • Making reservations for customers based on their various requirements and budgetary allowances.
    • Checking the availability of accommodation or transportation on the customers’ desired travel dates.
    • Keep a register of all tickets from the company.
    • Follow-up with reservation reminders and information to client and colleagues.
    • Trace lost, delayed, or misdirected baggage for customers.
    • Inform clients of essential travel information & policies, such as travel times, transportation connections, procedures, COVID-19 policies, medical and visa requirements.
    • Assist with processing ticket refunds from IATA agents/partners, airlines and other 3rd parties.
    • Plan routes, itineraries, and accommodation details, and compute fares and fees, using schedules, rate books, and computers.

    Requirements

    • Proven work experience as a Reservation & Ticketing Officer or similar role.
    • Proficiency in Global Distribution Systems (GDS) – most especially Sabre.
    • Proficiency with Amadeus & Galileo.
    • Acute understanding of IATA regulations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Proficiency with CRM, Project Management & Collaboration tools such as Trello, Slack, and More.
    • Knowledge of Airline Fare rules, BSP reconciliations, Ticket Cancellations & refunds.
    • Professional attitude and appearance.
    • Certified Travel Associate (CTA) or Certified Travel Counsellor (CTC), preferred.
    • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Customer service attitude.
    • High school degree; additional certification in ICAO/NCAA is a plus
