Lab Technician at a Medical Solutions Company

We are looking for a qualified lab technician to undertake a variety of technical laboratory procedures. He/she would support Scientists and medical professionals in research, testing, and laboratory maintenance. Recording data, sterilizing equipment, and ordering and organizing supplies.

The Lab Technician will conduct various laboratory tests and experiments to support the organization’s research and development projects. This role will involve working closely with our medical professionals, researchers, and the management team to ensure accurate and timely analysis of samples and data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare and analyze samples using a variety of techniques and equipment.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and functionality.
• Record and interpret data accurately, and prepare reports for researchers and project managers.
• Assist in the development and optimization of laboratory protocols and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations in the laboratory.
• Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues and achieve project goals.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reorder as needed.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Contribute to the overall success of the organization’s research initiatives by providing support and expertise as required.
• Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
• Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
• Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
• Maintaining equipment records and daily work logs
• Staying current on technical and scientific advances in their field

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, biochemistry).
• Proven experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a research or academic environment.
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques and equipment, including but not limited to microscopy, chromatography, and spectrophotometry.
• Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and best practices.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and data analysis software.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent
• Excellent physical condition and endurance
• Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
