    Head of Finance

    Our client who is a leading fund manager and advisory firm focused on West Africa with deep roots in private equity, financial advisory, management consulting, and agribusiness is looking to hire a Head of Finance in Anambra.

    Reporting Line: Reports to the Managing Director

    Job Objective:

    Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team. To provide strategic

    recommendations to the members of the executive management team, managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting. Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders

    Key Responsibilities:

    Planning

    • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
    • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
    •  Develop financial and tax strategies
    • Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
    • Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic direction

    Operations

    • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
    • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
    • Manage the accounting, human resources, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury departments
    • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
    • Implement operational best practices
    • Report financial results to the board of directors

    Risk Management

    • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
    •  Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
    • Construct and monitor reliable control systems
    • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
    • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
    • Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors
    • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

    Funding

    • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
    • Arrange for debt financing and equity financing
    •  Invest funds
    •  Invest pension funds

    Third Parties

    • Participate in conference calls with the investment community
    •  Maintain banking relationships
    • Represent the company with investment bankers and investors

    Requirements:

    Experience in agribusiness is a must

    •  B.Sc. Accounting/Economics/Business Admin or other related courses
    • Minimum of 7 years’ work experience in similar role.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
    • ACA or ACCA certified plus membership of professional accounting bodies
