Head of Finance and Accounts at SUNIC Foods Limited

Job Description
As the Head of Finance an Accounts, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial and accounting strategydirection of our company. You will oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis, account receivable and payable, monitoring of raw materials and food cost percentage,while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and optimizing financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's objectives and growth initiatives.
• Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to drive cross-functional initiatives and optimize business performance
• Perform general accounting activities including preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, capital expenditure schedules and the production of management reports for the company.
• Manage cash and banking activities of the company
• Provide management controls for procurement and expenditure.
• Establish and implement processes for reconciliation of bank statements and financial records.

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant qualification is mandatory.
• Accounting exprience in restaurant/hospitality industry
• Previous experience with any of the Big 4 accounting firms or in an organization audited by the Big 4 is highly preferred with hospitality industry experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven track record of at least 5 years in a senior finance or Accountingrole, preferably within the downstream sector.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be residence of Owerri.
