Head of Banking Operations at Hope Payment Service Bank

JOB PURPOSE:

• To ensure effective service delivery and efficient processing of all transactions in Banking Operations within the stipulated TAT. 
• Act as Back-up Staff to GH operations (if need be) and provide effective supervision to the other team members in operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To support the GH operations in the entire Operations of the Bank.
• Monitor effective reconciliation of electronic fund transfers and appropriate GLs, etc.
• Monitor and accurate posting of all settlement entries on payment channels/electronic transfers into respective GLs, income and expense accounts, etc.
• Authorization of all POS Merchant Inward transfers into Client accounts.
• Tracking and authorization of any failed inflows due to system issues to Customer accounts.
• Reconciliation and settlement of all payments and transfers done on the bank\'s various electronic platforms.
• Review on a daily basis transactions done via the bank application vis a vis the switching company (CBA Report vs Settlement Report).
• Refund of failed transactions to customers\' accounts upon approval of HOD, Tech. Support.
• Daily Proof of accounts and reconciliation of all Operations & Settlement GLs in the Bank.
• Daily reconciliation of all our External Bank Statements with their corresponding Internal Mirror GLs e.g. CBN RTGS Statement, UBA Settlement Account, UBA Current Account, POS Merchant Settlement Account etc. 
• Ensure proper documentation and archiving of transaction records.
• Efficient processing of all Interbank Placements, Investment bookings (TD, NTB, Bonds etc.)
• Prompt generation and sending of accurate investment confirmation letters to Clients.
• And any other task that might be assigned from time to time. 

EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION:

• Minimum of a first degree or its equivalent in Accounting, Banking and Finance or related discipline.
• Post graduate degree or MBA is an added advantage.
• Professional qualification - ICAN, ACCA, CIBN. 

SKILLS NECESSARY FOR JOB FUNCTION:

• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Sound understanding of products and operational processes of all key businesses in the Bank.
• Strong written/oral communications skills.
• Good understanding of presentation skills and MS Office.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 12 years’ post-graduation experience in Banking Operations.
