    Grants Assistant

    Context

    Tdh has been operating in Nigeria since 2017 and is currently implementing emergency programs, with a focus on the Northeast of Nigeria. Following the protracted crisis leading to the frequent displacement of population, and increased needs for humanitarian aid support, Tdh has put in place an important emergency response plan to provide relief to the mentioned population and host communities, notably on health, Water Sanitation Facilities (WASH), Child Protection (CP) and Education in Emergency (EiE). 

    General job description:

    Under the responsibility and in close collaboration with the Reporting & Program Quality Monitoring Manager, the Grant Assistant will contribute to the timely submission of qualitative appropriate reports, proposals,s or any other internal documents ensuring compliance with grant regulations and contributing to the mission development and/ or recognition.

    Main responsibilities:

    Project development

    • Support timely development of new proposals in close collaboration with the Reporting & Program Quality Monitoring Manager, working with program staff and field teams
    • Prepare retro-planning, ensure it is followed, and provide program units with appropriate documentation to contribute towards the development of proposals designs.
    • Support in ensuring proper proposal and grant management procedures is followed (that all operational units are aware of their commitments and contribution towards the delivery of proposals meeting donor requirements.)
    • Ensure the adequate filing and archiving of final documents,  

    Reporting

    • Support the Reporting & Program Quality Monitoring Manager in the reporting process; sending reminders and templates, collect initial full report drafts and conduct the first review; and solicit inputs from program teams on reports’ content.
    • Contribute to the quality of the presentations regarding the results of the current projects
    • Ensure the adequate archiving, filing, and disseminating of the final documents.
    • Contribute to the internal annual report process in close collaboration with Reporting & Program Quality Monitoring Manager. 

     Others

    • Update the Grant Follow-up Tool
    • Take meeting minutes and draft lessons learned as assigned.
    • Support the preparation and review of communication/capitalization/event documents in close collaboration with Reporting & Program Quality Monitoring Manager.

    Security and child safety

    Understands and applies security policies, the Child Safeguarding Policy, and fraud prevention policies.

    Competencies: This position requires personal, social and leadership competencies (PSLC) and technical and methodological competencies (TMC)

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or its recognized equivalent in public health, science, business, finance, public administration, or a related field.
    • Strong technical writing skills in English
    • Team spirit and interpersonal skills: the ability to work closely with project teams
    • Organizational and planning skills
    • Discipline, detailed-oriented, precision, transparency, and intellectual honesty
    • Results-oriented focus and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Other professional skills required:
    • Knowledge of project cycle management
    • Work experience in international development or the humanitarian sector is a plus.
    • Work experience in technical writing, editing, and reporting. Work experience in donor relations and report writing for relevant donors would be a distinct advantage.
    • Excellent in the use of computers and Microsoft (Excel Word) and PowerPoint). Competent in the use of email packages
