General Manager – Interstate Passenger Transport (Nigeria) at Vodstra Limited

Our client is a major interstate passenger transport operator in Nigeria seeking a strong industry leader to take full operational and commercial control of the business. We are specifically targeting professionals who have already run large-scale operations at the highest level in Nigeria’s passenger transport sector.

Who This Role Is For

This position is strictly for candidates who have:

• Served as Head of Operations (or equivalent) in one of Nigeria’s top six interstate passenger transport companies
• Managed large fleets, multiple terminals, interstate routes, and thousands of daily passengers
• Led operations in high-pressure, regulator-heavy, margin-sensitive environments
• If you have not operated at this level, do not apply.

As General Manager, you will be accountable for:

• End-to-end control of nationwide interstate operations
• Fleet performance, route profitability, safety compliance, and service reliability
• Turning operational discipline into measurable revenue growth
• Eliminating inefficiencies, revenue leakages, and underperformance
• Leading Terminal Managers and holding them to clear KPIs
• Increase the market share of the business in the industry
• Managing regulators, unions, security agencies, and strategic partners
• Scaling operations while maintaining strict cost and safety controls

Candidate Profile

• Prior role as Head of Operations (or equivalent) within one of Nigeria’s top six interstate passenger transport companies
• 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale passenger transport operations
• Proven success managing multi-location, high-volume interstate transport operations
• Deep, practical knowledge of Nigerian transport regulations and operating realities
• Strong financial discipline and commercial judgment
• Data-driven, decisive, and execution-focused
• Experienced in change management, turnaround, or rapid scale
• Direct exposure to operating under board oversight and investor performance expectations
• Willingness to travel extensively and take full ownership of results
