Description

• To ensure that all project activities are gender-sensitive, protection-oriented, and compliant with safeguarding standards while promoting the rights, participation, and well-being of women, men, boys, girls, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

Key Responsibilities
Gender Mainstreaming:

• Integrate gender considerations into project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Conduct gender assessments and identify barriers to participation and access.
• Promote equitable participation of women, men, girls, boys, and vulnerable groups in project activities.
• Support collection and analysis of sex, age, and disability-disaggregated data.

Protection Mainstreaming:

• Ensure project activities adhere to protection principles, including safety, dignity, non-discrimination, participation, and accountability.
• Conduct protection risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
• Monitor and report protection concerns affecting project participants.
• Strengthen community-based protection mechanisms.

Safeguarding and PSEAH:

• Support implementation of safeguarding and PSEAH policies and procedures.
• Conduct awareness sessions for staff, volunteers, and community members.
• Ensure confidential and survivor-centered handling of complaints and referrals.
• Monitor compliance with safeguarding standards across project locations.

Community Engagement and Accountability:

• Establish and strengthen community feedback and complaints mechanisms.
• Facilitate community consultations and stakeholder engagement.
• Promote meaningful participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups.

Capacity Building:

• Train staff, volunteers, and community structures on gender, protection, safeguarding, and inclusion.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project teams.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor gender and protection indicators.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
• Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Development Studies, Human Rights, Public Health, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years' experience in gender, protection, safeguarding, or humanitarian programming.
• Experience in community engagement and capacity building.
• Strong report writing, facilitation, and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of protection principles, safeguarding, PSEAH, GBV risk mitigation, and child protection.
