    Director, Natural and Mineral Resources

    • We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Director, Natural and Mineral Resources to lead the development, management, and strategic growth of our Natural and Mineral Resources Directorate.
    • The Director will provide executive leadership across resource governance, mineral development, sustainability, environmental stewardship, stakeholder engagement, investment promotion, and policy implementation. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of driving responsible resource development while balancing economic, environmental, and social priorities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership

    • Develop and implement the Directorate's strategic vision, goals, and operational plans.
    • Lead initiatives that promote sustainable utilization and management of natural and mineral resources.
    • Advise executive leadership on resource policy, sector trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across all directorate functions.

    Resource Development and Management

    • Oversee programs related to mineral exploration, resource assessment, development, and management.
    • Support the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities within the natural resources sector.
    • Ensure effective stewardship of mineral and natural resource assets.
    • Monitor industry developments and recommend strategic responses.

    Policy, Governance, and Compliance

    • Lead the development and implementation of policies, frameworks, and standards governing natural and mineral resources.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, environmental requirements, and international best practices.
    • Strengthen governance, transparency, and accountability across resource management activities.
    • Manage risk and ensure adherence to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Build productive relationships with government agencies, investors, development partners, communities, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
    • Represent the organization at national and international forums, conferences, and industry engagements.
    • Lead stakeholder consultations and partnership initiatives.

    Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship

    • Promote responsible resource extraction and sustainable development practices.
    • Oversee environmental and social impact management programs.
    • Ensure community engagement and social responsibility objectives are integrated into operational activities.

    Leadership and Management

    • Provide leadership and mentorship to multidisciplinary technical and administrative teams.
    • Manage directorate budgets, resources, and performance objectives.
    • Establish key performance indicators and monitor achievement of strategic targets.
    • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

    Qualifications and ExperienceRequired

    • Master's degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Resource Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in natural resources, mining, extractive industries, environmental management, or resource governance.
    • At least 7 years in a senior leadership or executive management role.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing sector policies, programs, or large-scale projects.
    • Strong understanding of natural resource governance, sustainability, ESG principles, and regulatory frameworks.
    • Proven ability to engage effectively with government, private sector, investors, communities, and development partners.
