Credit Risk Officer at Motion Yield Nigeria Limited

A consumer lending company is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Risk Officer to support our credit and lending operations. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, a good understanding of consumer lending risk principles, and the ability to analyze loan data to support business decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze credit applications and loan performance trends
• Conduct basic risk assessments and provide recommendations
• Monitor default, early repayment, and portfolio quality indicators
• Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly risk reports using Excel or other tools
• Collaborate with underwriting, collections, and operations teams
• Support the development of internal credit scoring and exposure models
• Escalate unusual lending patterns or fraud red flags promptly

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
• 1–3 years' experience in risk analysis, credit analysis, or consumer lending
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
• Familiarity with data tools (Power BI, SQL, or Google Sheets) is an advantage
• Basic understanding of credit risk, KYC, and regulatory standards
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Excellent communication and reporting skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of HND/BSC degree
• Experience in a microfinance, fintech, or digital lending company
• Knowledge of basic fraud detection strategies
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
