    Corporate Training Lead

    Position Summary

    • The Corporate Training Lead reports to the chief executive officer (CEO) and is responsible for leading the revenue-generating business unit that cross-subsidizes program activities and generates revenue for non-program-related activities.
    • The Corporate Training Lead serves as a training consultant to organizations across multiple industries. The lead will be responsible for identifying skills and knowledge gaps, developing curriculum/instructional material, and delivering training to different organizations across multiple industries.
    • To be successful in this role, you should have experience with various training methods, including e-learning and coaching, and be able to keep participants engaged with interactive sessions, like case studies and role-playing exercises, etc.
    • A critical part of this role will involve working closely with senior leadership (CEO and CFO) to generate revenue to meet the organization’s earned revenue goals to drive financial sustainability.

    Position Responsibilities
    The Corporate Training Lead performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:

    Training Planning & Delivery:

    • Engage with organizations to analyze their existing training gaps through a Needs Assessment and proffer solutions to improve employee productivity
    • Evaluate existing training and development programs within organizations and sign-up WAVE as long-term training partners
    • Revise, modify, and update training materials to meet client needs
    • Collaborate with internal departments within clients’ organizations to develop training materials that achieve defined learning outcomes
    • Create course materials, curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching aids that support content delivery and skills assessments
    • Deploy feedback tools to assess the effectiveness of the curriculum and training delivered
    • Track training outcomes and ensure alignment to predetermined business objectives
    • Develop performance evaluation feedback channels to measure the effectiveness of intervention deployed to the organization
    • Deliver engaging training sessions in-person and virtually.

    Business Development:

    • Set goals and develop plans for business and revenue growth in collaboration with the Finance team
    • Research, plan and implement new target market initiatives
    • Research prospective accounts in target markets
    • Generate and follow up with leads and move them through the sales cycle
    • Developing quotes and proposals for prospective clients
    • Generate corporate training leads with employers
    • Manage relationships with new and existing corporate training clients
    • Collaborate with the Communications department to create awareness and visibility for the corporate training business unit.


    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / HND / Master's Degree qualification with 5 - 7 years work experience.


    • Creative and critical thinking: Ability to critically analyze various opportunities/prospective partners to understand their jobs-to-be-done (JTBD) and decipher/design solutions that align with the client’s JTBD (Job-To-Be-Done)
    • Relationship building and management: Ability to network, build and develop strong relationships and social connections with prospective and existing clients on behalf of WAVE to get them excited about partnering with WAVE while building the reputation and brand of WAVE.
    • Storytelling and thought leadership: Ability to tell stories of WAVE’s impact in a way that inspires clients to want to partner with us and to communicate these stories in multiple formats (verbal, written prose, and PowerPoint)
    • Effective Communication: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques to communicate with a diverse audience.
    • Leadership: Capacity to provide guidance and direction that others willingly follow and positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.
    • Problem-Solving Skills: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
    • Strategy: Excel at strategic thinking, be open to new perspectives and better ways to do things; and be creative, a visionary, and manage innovation well
    • Delegation: Must have the ability to delegate effectively
    • Teamwork and Collaboration: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
    • Time/self-management: Ability to work proactively and independently to achieve set goals
    • Organize and Plan: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.
    • Get work done through cooperation with other groups with no direct reporting relationship to the position
    • Self-starter, with proven ability to produce results within budget and time deadlines.
